Are you trying to build this using the original Playstation? You probably don't have voltage running to the disc reader, because they all have their own voltages. You have to run 3 different voltages to the original Playstation to make it work. Not to mention the larger size of the motherboard, disc reader, and controller ports. You really should just get a PSone, and if you don't have the money for one you really shouldn't be attempting to build portables (yet).
EDIT: Just a thought, you might not have the disc detection button "pressed".

thank you...
well, i felt a bit injuriated about telling me that i wasn't ready to make portables... the true is that i have already made one, but was much simplier (a sega genesis, with a B&W portable tv)
i want to use my psx for something... well, you told me that i had to use 3 voltages .. what does that mean (three baterys?) (sorry i'n not english, so to me is difficult to understand every thing you say)
well for me, the circuits aren't difficult... i have already a case were they fit very well!
money, for me, is not a problem , , but i'm trying to save some to make a portable ps2 (that would be very very cool) but the screen i want costs over 290€ (dollars)! i'm saving for something that really deserves...
well, thank you again, and pleas ansewr soon

You impatience annoys me. You have made three topics topics today asking the same question. Will you be proud of yourself for finishing this project when you couldn't do much of it yourself? How much progress have you actually made if you can't get it running off batteries. I have already given you good advice, but you didn't listen. Now nobody can, or will help you because nobody works with the PSX. There is no reason to do so now. PSones are cheaper then ever. Your only going to end up with: a larger portable, with less runtime, and very inefficient battery use. That of course is assuming that you ever get it working. You say you are determined and that you will not give up, but all you have done is beg the boards for information that nobody cares about. Some people are trying to help you but your not listening. You've made multiple topics about this portable, and its starting to annoy me.

This doesn't help either. Its not like we are hiding information from you, so whats with the attitude? I told you why nobody wants/should work with a PSX shouldn't that have been enough?
If you are so stubborn you can try this wiring diagram I made for you today.

I haven't tested this so it could be wrong, but be thankful that someone made one for you. You will probably post more about wanting someone to hold your hand through the whole process, and you will become more frustrated when nobody can/will help, but look back and see that I have been helping you. I have give you some helpful replies. I told you that this is not easy, and its not worth it. I told you about the disc button, and I've put up a diagram for you. I don't even know why I'm helping you now because the times I have tried you just kicked dirt in my face. Don't wonder why people aren't helping you, especially after I already told you.
I may sound mean, but its because I've already told you why this isn't a good idea, and you run around like everyones incompetent, and we should all be kissing your "posterior", because you are new, and you NEED HELP!!!.

People,

Please, stop it. I know he's not articulate. Maybe he's 14, maybe he's lots of other things.

All those things aside, look at it this way;
1) He's into electronics. Not many youthly people are into modding stuff,
when they can get the things they want pre-made at k-mart. You should all
admire his desire to experiment with DIY'ing stuff. I remember my father
gave me my first casio keyboard, and the first (well second, after I tried
all the sounds) thing I did with it was pull out the screwdrivers and open
the thing. Never recovered from that habit :D

2) He's using the oldskool playstation, instead of the PSOne. Big deal.
Remember that Ben uses the far more oldskool Bandsaw'd to size Atari's?
He could just have used a cheap Knock-off clone, considering power-
requirements, size, and portability. But he didn't, did he? It's not the
equipment that makes him want to do this. It's the effort, and the
franckenstein-likeness to say "it's alive!" when it is finished. He's keeping
the equipment working, instead of gathering up dust on the shelf. I'd
consider that worth bonuspoints when he could have grabbed the PSOne.

3) (or 2.2) I'm working on a Ps1p too. I too use a oldskool non-Ps1 board.
Not because I am a troll, I am stubborn, or because I posses other
annoying characteristics. To be honest, I'm even more stubborn. I use an
all aluminium case, I use a 7.2V batt-pack (which translates into an almost
severly under-powered mainboard), I even use a non Sony LCD Screen,
without RGB input. Does this make me a difficult one, yes. Does it make
me a pioneer? I'll let you all be the judge of that when it's "alive!".
Call me mr. Franckenstein.

It all boils down to getting the job done. Some take the path of least
resistance (< 100 ohms), some take the hard road. I'm not gonna tell
anyone what road suits them best. It's the journey that counts. And i'll tell
ya all, I'm learning lots of things on the way to completion of my portable.

Greets, Jaco Sloof
