a microphones not really that ground breaking but mayb they do have an ace up their sleeve, but the longer they wait to announce it the less and less the revolution will be taken seriously, while the other two have ahd their specs out for a while

there is no reason for Apple to join, the iPod will have them covered for decades.Extreme_Jesus wrote:If apple does enter i owe you something, they could if they want, but i think they more set on competing against microsoft in the computer market, although they might considering the unexpected popularity ipod
btw totokan i really hope that does come true, but the out look is grim....
as far as Nintendo goes, I really wish Nintendo wouldn't be compared to Sony and Microsoft. In my oppinion, they have very big differences and a very different goal.
I can state that i am rooting for Nintendo in this generation, but since my lack of association with video games in general, I would in no way count as a "fanboy". Rather a video game enthusiest with a preference (currently) for Nintendo products.
I think now the Revolution is being compared to Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 because that is the way it has been forever. I think that at this point in time Microsoft and Sony are selling completely different products, the only similarity is that they all happen to play video games.
I don't even think that they should be discussed on the same plane, and Nintendo is really beginning to express this a little heavier in this next generation. I think it is time people stop female of the dog species and whining about why the Nintendo isn't going to succeed. Going on about the incomparable graphics and controller and such. Try to realize they aren't trying to sell anything to you. So get over it. It isn't your forte? Then don't buy it, no one is forcing you to do so, so why super-defend your oppinion about why it isnt going to go anywhere. Don't buy it and it wont go to the top. Simple as that.
You can buy an Xbox 360 or a Playstation 3, Im happy you're having fun. But why do that and then down talk something that isnt even meant for you?
Just like people downtalk vinyl records. They may have occassional dust noice, scratches, or warp...but if you don't want that then buy a cd. I personally like the sound of Vinyl, it is rich, analog, and real. If you don't, then you dont have to listen to it plain and simple.
YES! i actually fit a metaphor in that!
The ipod is constantly being compared to the psp, especially the video ipod, and this may make them want to make a vidoe game system.Extreme_Jesus wrote: although they might considering the unexpected popularity ipod
Wouldn't it be cool, if like a week before the revolution and PS3 came out, apple revealed that they had been secretly working on a video game console this whol time, and it was coming out right before the revolution and PS3. It would catch the world by surprise, and it would outsell all the other systems. Thats my dream.

Its kinda hard to not compare the three as they are all in the same market and therefore in competition, i can see where you're coming from, but im not saying that you shouldn't buy a revolution or buy a PS3 instead, im simpliy stating the fact that nintendo is losing out, i know there is a market for nintendo, but their way of dealing with the market is losing them customer which is never a good thing, i for one used to have lots of nintendo liking friends, now i have one, they all had enough myself included

i can see where you are coming from you. but i think at this point Nintendo has done enough so they don't have to make it because the customer wants it.Extreme_Jesus wrote:Its kinda hard to not compare the three as they are all in the same market and therefore in competition, i can see where you're coming from, but im not saying that you shouldn't buy a revolution or buy a PS3 instead, im simpliy stating the fact that nintendo is losing out, i know there is a market for nintendo, but their way of dealing with the market is losing them customer which is never a good thing, i for one used to have lots of nintendo liking friends, now i have one, they all had enough myself included
like i read in another topic. Why make a machine just like the competition's if you are trying to beat it. If that is the case it would just be a dick waving contest.

but my point is what they're doing is pleasing less and less of their fans and if you alienate your fanbase then your pretty much screwed

please read this first.
First off I think the Rev is going to succede and is one of the greatest ideas Nintendo has ever made. All their mistakes in the past they're now fixing up with the Rev. I used to not really like Nintendo a lot, of course I loved their older consoles but I wasn't a fan. That changed when I read about the Rev, and have now gained a whole new faith in them and I guess I'm a fanboy now. All the PS3 and 360 are doing is making them more powerful and giving them more features. They're getting away from their roots as a gaming console, infact I think it's safe to say that they're entertainment computers now. Not Nintendo all they're focused on are games, and making games better and funner for everyone. The PS3 and 360 are focusing on everything, like music and movies, and I think it's going to show in their games. Everything Nintendo has done bad in the past they're now fixing with the Rev.
About the PSP... I can't think of any reason why you'd pick the PSP over the DS. All but a few of the games suck, and the freaken thing is so fragile that they break all the time. Mine broke within a week (I dropped my bag a few feet to the ground!!) it's more fragile then a laptop computer. not even going to mention the firmware.
PS. and Actually the DS has more and better games and has sold more units worldwide, including the US not just Japan.
I think to many people bad mouth the Revelution for it's new innovative designs and plans, and I don't know why. Of course you have your oppinion and if you don't like something i can't make you like it.
Whats so bad with the Revolution that all over forums and the web there is only people talking about how much they hate it. And most people post flame on the Rev without even doing the research first; so I'll tell you what I like and hate of the REV, and Iv'e done the reasearch too so I know what I'm talking about.
Controller
The Rev controller I think is one of the best ideas in video game history, they're not just remaking the Gamecube with better hardware and releasing games that we'll just get sick of in a few weeks. They're adding a whole new type of gameplay to the scene; and this isn't something that we'll get sick of in just a few months. This is something so new that we might never get tired of it. Oh and one important piont. They are releasing a shell for the controller that looks just like the gamecube controller. So your not just getting this whole new gameplay but we also keep the old way too. This is what most don't know.
Graphics
Nintendo has annonced that the graphics will be the same or better then all other consoles so don't worry about this. The HDTV thing won't happen till 2008 and I seriously doubt everybody gets a new TV every year so don't worry about this either. And I really won't mind much to buy an adapter for it. and HD support might still be implimented.
Kiddy Image
All should know that Nintendo is going to lose their Kiddy image ex: the more adult games they're making and the new Rev design are big examples. and they say that they're are going to make more games directed to older gamers. So more games like Resi 4 and the like, the new Zelda game and the new parental code lockouts for adult games are big evidence of this. So be at rest, they said they wan't to target all age groups.
Other Notes
You all should like to know that Nintendo is actually making a very smart desision. Without the hype of the new innovative designs and gamplay the next Nintendo console would just be another graphics pushing machine that offers gamers nothing that they can't get in an xbox 360; and they would slowly fade off into the history books like sega and atari before them. They're making their last move, and they're gonna make it a big one, one that could win the markett or lose it. Because they're defiantly goning to lose it if they do nothing. They have the money to do it and the backup money, so if they do end up losing it at least they will still be in business. They really have nothing to lose. Oh and by the way they are not losing their developers, believe it or not they are actually gaining developers because of their new controller.
If you have questions ask them, because I can probably answer them.
hope you like this

that describes me VERY well, i love the big N and i think the revolution just might succede where the 'cube failed. i loved the gamecube but its third party suppors was terrible, the controller is great and its nearly indestructable but, my god, where are all the games!?! that was its big failure. the revolution will do as the name implies, revolutionize the way we play games, i KNOW that nintendo has something big up their sleeve for the may 9th date. the controller was a shock but the ability to add modules will be its saving grace. its very creative but somewhat incompatible with current types of games. and im sure the rev will ahve some type of HD support, like the gamecube. plus the 200$ pricetag for the revolution make it great in my opinion. in my life i have bought 3 game systems new, EVER. the n64 the gamecube and my gp2x, im cheap and a 200 dollar system that is so creative would be something i would consider owningvideo game enthusiest with a preference (currently) for Nintendo products.

oh well i still love nintendo more than any other game system and actually i think the ps3 and the Revelution are going to do better than the x-box 360 u know why, because back when the GC PS@ an x-box came out the GC and ps2 were released before the X-box So in this situation the 360 was realesed before the Revelution and ps3 and therefore i think the later counsuls will sell more and i also like the revelution because on the internet download thing.

im thinkin the rev will do well, most people i know say the 360 is no different from the X-box and its just a computer in a fancy pants case, which is true,
i think the rev will do great as long as all of the controllor peripherals dont cost much or come with the unit when you buy it
the PS3, well lets just say i think sony and its games are too bland for me, i play games to get away from the world and thats what nintendo does best

This thread was not designed purely to bad mouth the revolution, because little is known about it, this is about nintendo's continued attitude that is alienating the fans (myself included)Raveneye wrote:please read this first.

The kiddy image thing i never had a problem with, but its the non nintendo fan views of it, and someone already said nintendo has a market that wants it, but if they are going to lose the kiddy image it will take some doing, but if they do, they will come out of it for the better
