Windows is criznap, and the only experience I have with Mac's are at school, where everything is mickey-moused crap. So, I'd rather not vote.

Well when it comes to an all around best OS, it is Mac OS X. Windows is lacking technology wise, it is also still has holes for exploits to be taken. The Unixes like Linux distros and BSD are very powerful but still relie very much on command line and have a steep learning curve.

Mac has a powerful, easy to use, and secure OS. The key reason its powerful is that its based on Unix, that is also the reason its secure. Also Apple has a long tradition of having the most user friendly User Interface.

Windows is used most only because it there and everyone uses it. Personally I would dump it but... I cant get the video capture stuff I like on Linux/BSD, and I only have a G3, presently not working.

At the moment Apple only has about 2% share in the computer market. Chances are that by June when the x86 Macs come out they will get close to 20%. A lot of software developers will be interested in writing programs for Apple as they dont have to learn to program for a different archeteture.

And for those of you out there. For all people conserned Amiga doesnt run on any modern hardware... its a deadend. BeOS, the company sold off its preprietary software to Palm, the community Yellow Tab it $99 for the OS.

Maybe he's running something like DOS... its a command prompt, didnt support much. Cant be considered a OS by today's standards.

i like windows the best for games and easy to. i want to like linux but it's too hard to use (maybe i should try to find out how to use it better, that might help

)
