It wasn't x-files...it was a comedy. Something about these college kids that cheated a lot and this one guy really liked this girl but he was a bit obsessed with her. Anyways, build one of those Rogue-games-in-an-Altoids-tin things. Or maybe make an NES, Genesis, or VCS controller.
Or use it to squirt all your de-soldered solder into, and when it's full use it as a paperweight!
Make a set of walkie talkies that are housed in an Altoid's tin. Get on of those 2.5" hard drive to USB adapters, a compactflash > Laptop hard drive and put it all in there. Make a makeup compact. Come on its not that hard to think of something to do with a tin.

Store all your boogers you pick in it. The objective: get it full. I wanted to do that when I was a kid. A can full of boogers, how cool is that when you're 9. Oooh, or fingernails, that would be just as good. Then you could open the tin and offer them to people
I have some old FRS radios that I don't use anymore, plus about 9 tins laying around. That would be kinda cool to put them in it. Or you could do the bra thing, that's something else...

Find one of the phones that doesnt have a graphical screen and you'll be fine. I'm sure they still have some out there. And this project should be easier then the rotary cellular phone mod.
