Re: Firefox failing in Ubuntu

firefox isn't really any slower in linux, but flash sure is. Just use the stop autoplay addon and tell it to disable ALL flash applets until you click on them. Makes things a lot faster, and keeps you from getting rickrolled.

Re: Hacking a dance pad, Button ohms too high!

Now having trouble getting diodes in all the right places. I went ahead and hacked another ps2 softmat so that it would work with my ps2-usb converter to get me by, but I still want to make this dumb thing work.

Re: Unlocking a Nokia N90

http://www.gsmliberty.net/shop/nokia_unlock.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

If your phone is on the list, that should be able to generate an unlock code for you. It worked great with my old 6102i.

Be careful, you usually only get three tries before the phone will deny using ...

Re: Hacking a dance pad, Button ohms too high!

Yes, I'm probing the right points. I cut off the circuit board right after where the plastic conductor sheets connected to it so I would have a good place to solder, and from the traces there, all buttons have 100k when pressed, and open when not pressed. Possibly not enough pressure, but the only ...

Hacking a dance pad, Button ohms too high!

Trying to hack a red octance ignition dance pad (that the controller went bad on) to a USB pc gamepad.

The problem is when a button is pressed on the pad it has about 100k ohms of resistance, too much for the gamepad to accept it as a closed circuit.

Any ideas on how to make this work?

Well I'm never too high with funds, also with the research I did, about 80-100 dollars would cover the parts to a basic N64 port. I can afford the parts but I dont want to mess anything up. >.<

These things take a lot of work to make. I get $50/hour fixing computers, and making portables is a lot ...

Just to be sure: You took the tension mesure in parrallel ? Because if you mesure the tension in serial, it won't display the right number: to mesure the tension of the 12v line, simply put the + of your voltage-meter to the 12v pin of the GC psu and the - to the ground of the psu.

You might ...

I did some more poking around and found something out. My 12 line is only putting out out around 5 volts. I think I fried it when I (stupidly) ran the regulator for the ps1 screen off of it. So, new question, anyone know how to fix a GC PSU that has a bad 12 rail?

I have seen some really retarded ones that simply launched an explorer window with an html page that had image links to the programs on the disk. I think it was my old wireless card actually.

Ok, the laser carridge does move, but only at certain times and when in certain places (havn't figured out specifics yet). I believe it to be the motherboard now, as I have another rev.1 DC that I pulled the gdrom drive from and tried in this one. No luck. Could the draw be too much on the GC power ...

I know I'm digging up a somewhat dead topic, sorry.

I have the same laptop, and I fixed mine by taking apart the laptop, and soldering the power plug on a short chunk of wire to the mobo. This made it so the plug wasn't putting stress on the solder points when I plugged it in.

Opening the thing is ...

I now have the screen powered internally and the gamecube power supply in operation. I'm having a bit of trouble with disk read errors at the moment, but that shouldn't be too hard to fix. I'll be adding batteries sometime with week.

EDIT: Ok, so the disk read errors seem to be related to the laser ...

Well, I wasn't able to make it work with the playstation's av port, so I just strung a wire out the back to connect it via composite. Bummer, but it works.
