Re: Regarding touchscreen overlays

Nothing motivates like a good slur.

I was considering doing that. I was really interested in the Samsung NC20 but go disappointed when I couldn't find a 12.1" widescreen overlay. Next one I've found so far is 14"...seems like a lot of bending; I could be wrong.

Re: Regarding touchscreen overlays

I figured cutting the overlay would gift you with the need for more wiring in a best case scenario. I didn't really think that was an option.

So it looks like some math be in order. pppbpbbbtthhptth. Approaching this from a portable gaming angle I can see where a little extra is not maybe such a ...

Re: molded epoxy resin

I'm missing something I think. So I get that it's exothermic and develops heat as it is curing. I was under the impression this ended post curing (16 hours or whatever). Does it continue to produce heat even after that or resume churning out heat under certain circumstances that pop up later?

I ...

Re: Regarding touchscreen overlays

That could work I guess. I don't have any of these things in front of me, but would this require a larger case than might otherwise be necessary?

Regarding touchscreen overlays

So a quick question: Touchscreen overlays, can they be either custom ordered or cut to size? Silly either way I know, but I can't find a 16;10 12.1" overlay :(

Re: molded epoxy resin

Is that a problem post molding? Seems like a, I dunno, 12x9x1 inch (roughly) case wouldn't be a fire hazard *shrug*

molded epoxy resin

A quick search through the forums didn't seem to yield a particular answer, but has anyone here tried molding epoxy resin for a case? If not, was it for cost, structural or other reasons?

It seems to me that this route would require the least amount of space and be less likely to anger your fellow ...

Re: hacking together a tablet pc

*facepalm* That wouldn't sting my ego as much if it had been some lesser known pc/electronics website...but amazon *shakes head*. Funny how that didn't list up on a google shopping search...Anyway, thanks for the clarification. I watched a video on installing XP onto one of these guys. It looked ...

Re: hacking together a tablet pc

I'm looking for something in the 9-10 inch range. Yeah, I've seen the clarionmind mentioned about. I'm not sure it will be big enough for what I would like. Reworking an Asus netbook is an interesting idea though. Mostly what I would need the tablet to do is browse the web and play flash. The iPad ...

hacking together a tablet pc

Hey guys,

I've become obsessed, again, with constructing my own tablet. I say again...really it's sort of a morph of a previous idea. I bought an old laptop to use as a firewall, which failed, so I gutted it. Seemed like it would have plenty of room to put new parts in, so I looked into buying a ...
