why yes it does. thanks! not sure how soon i will be able to finish my portable but it looks like the slim will make it a lot easyer

not sure about the new xbox but on the old, when you use the transfer cable, you can not save to that hard drive, only transfer to and from. was gonna do that on my home xbox so i had more memory but it wont let me.

i have a 120g hard drive from an old xbox that i shorted out doing a portable. is there a way to hook up that hard drive to a slim xbox? they will both be taken apart as i plan on retrying my portable but with a slim xbox. just if i can save money and just get the 4g xbox that would awsome.

still no luck. must of shorted the mobo somewhere, which realy sucks! guess i will wait tell i get the ok from the wife to buy another xbox. but thanks for the tips guys.

for you case, can't say I've heard of foamex. Ben used komatex or sintra. not sure where to get komatex but you can get sintra from foamboardsource.com I ordered mine from there and would recommend that site. good luck with the portable, not as easy as it looks!

make sure all the connections are good and not touching each other. i had the same problem and it took me a while to figure out why my xbox wouldn't go past the start up screen.

Tried a different power brick and still does the same thing. Any thoughts?

any ideas on a fix? not sure what happened. i let it sit for 2 hours and i get the red light as soon as i turn it on. i have a spare brick but really dont want to have to redo it all if i dont have to.

its actualy my first hack but i am learning things very quickly. didn't think of using my helping hands. feel kinda dumb now. oh well, i'm learning as i go. thanks for the help again

like that. already have wires from the mobo justa pain trying to solder them to the connector.

any one know of an easy way to connect wires from the mobo to the connector? haven trouble tryn to solder wires to those pins. was thinking headers but never used thembefor so not sure if itis possible. any ideas?

Was testing my xbox and didn't notice the red and black wires for one of my fans were touching. Needless to say it fried the protecter on the bottom of the mobo. Any ideas on another spot to hook up my fans. I have an idea that might work but would be nice to have any other options

can pin 20 go with the common ground or does it need to be seperate? other words, how do you ground pin 20?
