Re: Am I missing something? [DREAMCAST]

The battery fails to turn the screen on, so no, neither

EDIT: which pins do I need to connect together to make it think its on a psone? All I know it that its one of the models that came with a psone unit (or so the box said).

Re: Am I missing something? [DREAMCAST]

Hmm...both grounds in slot one (pin 2 and 7) are connected to the - side of the battery but the screen still isn't turning on. Is there some sort of written guide somewhere? Or can someone tell me what pins connect to where for a simple composite signal and power signal?

Re: Am I missing something? [DREAMCAST]

Ohhh I wasn't sure about the grounds. I'll reply if it works or not when I have the grounds connected.

Am I missing something? [DREAMCAST]

Hi. I am having trouble powering my PSone Screen and my Dreamcast at the same time. I have a 7.2v battery which successfully made the disk spin and everything, but I wired up the PSone screen as follows:

SCREEN SLOT ONE:
7.5v IN -> The plus side of the battery

SCREEN SLOT TWO:
Composite Video ...

Re: Stumped again

Ok, so I tried soldering the two together (because they're so close together and small) but I'm still having no luck with the disk spinning. I also tried pushing the switch down with my thumb but I still get nothing. :(

Re: Stumped again

Never MIND! I actually finally got the dreamcast to run off batteries! My only question is...

How do I make a naked dreamcast think that it's closed. The disk isn't spinning... :?

Re: I need help with the PicoPSU

So, connect a wire from PS_ON to GND? Sounds simple enough. I'll let you know if it works.

I need help with the PicoPSU

Since the TI card method is a little too much to take in at once, I think I might want to go back to using a picoPSU. I have
PicoPSU-120
12v Battery (4200 mAh)
Two 7.2v batteries (2 and 3 amps)
Dreamcast (Duh!)
When I wire up the PicoPSU to the appropriate voltages and connect the battery to the ...

Re: Stumped again

Thanks. Since I have many 7.2v batteries laying around, I'll experiment with those. However, I'm confused by this whole thing about setting voltages with resistors. I checked google with no luck. Also, I'm clueless on what would go into the battery's + and - when I get to the 12v pin.

Re: Stumped again

Thanks! This really helped a lot. Like I said, I have 7.2v batteries, will 7.2 power the Dreamcast? I can't find any 7.5v bbatteries.

Stumped again

Hi,
I have been working on a portable Dreamcast and realized I have been taking more downtime than actual work time. I finally decided to cut the crap and ask about alternatives to a PicoPSU to get a Dreamcast running on batteries. Bacteria was smart and found this workaround and I'm still ...

Making Progress (have a question)

I have two batteries. One is a 3.3 amp 7.2v battery. The other is a 2 amp 7.2v battery. I am getting the orange light from the controller input board (good, i guess...) but I'm also getting a red light on the PicoPSU and the disk isn't spinning.

Any help would be great.
Thanks in advance.

12V Airsoft Gun Battery

I don't play Airsoft, I just have friends that do (I got to shoot an Airsoft gun once! ) This gave me an idea. Since most Airsoft guns require small batteries to fit inside, a flat-ish 9'' battery would be ideal! I scoured Batteryspace.com for Airsoft Batteries.
This is what I found http ...

PyCast progress (cont.) - Need help, again

Weeks ago, my Dad insisted that he should help me with my DCp. We both noticed a strange proprietary power connector on the end of the wire. Without hesitation, Dad cut this connector off. The end of the wire began to get hot and started smoking. When he shook the smoke off, he told me he could ...
