Updates on the Progress of Things…

Well I just finished the design for the new Xbox 360 laptops. They’re quite similar to the THQ models, but “optimized” for easier construction. All the of side plates/DVD drive lids are flush with the sides of the case, the screws holding the lid on are around the screen (like the C64 laptop) instead of the top of the unit. Also I’ve ditched the camera, added a USB port, Ethernet port and the volume control is digital with up & down buttons. I guess it is fairly different!

Should have the first couple of these done in late June, so if you’re interested let me know!

In other news, Mike Troxel and I are building another C64 laptop, this time using the 1541-Ultimate via the cartridge slot. The idea is to auction it off for charity, so if you’ve been drooling over the prospect of having your very own C64 laptop, your dream could come true!

You’re not supposed to take photos inside of Warner Brothers, so if I had taken one (which, um, of course I didn’t!) it would have gone above.

Finally, I was in LA on Monday for the Jace Hall show. It was a lot of fun and the resulting segment should be pretty entertaining. I’ll post a link once they have it done.

Buy the Possumus Woman Costume!

I am getting rid of all sorts of stuff I don’t want to move, and that includes the Possumus Woman costume!

I never get attached to our movie props since they usually all get destroyed, so to me this is just one more piece of crap laying around. Besides, when we make “Possumus Man 3: Son of Possumus” in 2021 I’ll probably have some new ideas about a costume anyway.

COSTUME SOLD! Have fun with it!

Own a piece of movie history and impress all of your friends! Have fun…

2 more Xbox 360 laptops for the having

I have (2) Jasper Xbox 360’s laying around so I figured why not build some more laptops?

Shown above is my new design. It is pretty similar to the Darksiders laptop but has a few changes:

  • Grill area will be different (but probably not what’s shown above)
  • No camera (what’s the point)
  • Volume slider will be integrated into design and not an obvious afterthought like the Darksiders model 🙂
  • (2) USB slots (since the camera frees one up)
  • Ethernet port + built-in Wifi.
  • Possibly smaller power supply (working on that)

If you are interested in this new design please let me know. The planned completion of the 2 new units would be late June, and the cost would be the usual $5000 US. Please no “trade-in” offers, deals, credits, etc, it’s that cost flat. (Unless you have a green 1999 Ford Escort station wagon 5 speed for trade)

In other news I will probably start taking custom work and orders again in May, so stay tuned. Some site enhancements are in the works as well.

9 year anniversary of the original VCSp

Hard to believe it’s been so long… 9 years ago this month I completed my first portable gaming project, the Atari 2600 VCSp.

It was an age before decent digital cameras…

You can read the original story by clicking here. I found some photos of the unit that I don’t believe have been on the site before, you can check them out below.

In other news, I plan to do some site changes to include an easy-to-browse gallery of all my work, more downloadable data and other things. Stay tuned!
