.dummy questions

Post by Calidor »

Hey everyone, I bought a dreamcast this summer and have been burning games for it since. It concerned me when i learned i could kill my precious system by un-dummied cd-rs. I've been trying to create dummy disks with autodummy and Dummy add, but dreamcast refuses to play them, even with utopia. help please!

I hope this is for homebrew games only, and not illegal copies.

This forum is dedicated to Dreamcast hardware, and some software. However, discussing ROMs and how to get illegal copies to work is forbidden. If you mean homebrew games that don't violate copyrights, then it is okay. ^^

Just a word of warning, okay? Be careful how you word such questions. Your question wording is fine right now, so I won't lock or delete this post unless illegal things come up.

I also see that this is your first post. Welcome to the forums!
Warranty-Voiding fun!

If you are a pirate, leave, we are not dedicated to the Dreamcast hardware, and from your context, you sound as if you are burning "backups". If you are a homebrewer, stay, and welcome to the family!

I dont know how to put the dummy files into the image, but the easiest way to do it open notepad and just enter a bunch of zeros.

Yeah I also wondered that, I won't pirate anything, but some of those homebrew's that are out/coming out (Drill is sweet) are pretty cool. I have beats of rage, and the Drill Demo, but I don't want to burn out my DC by playing burns. I will have to try that out, just add 0's and fill the file? THat really all it takes?
