Smart charger question...

I want to charge my NIHM batteries with this smart charger I have, but my batteries don't have a protection circuit. Will the smart charger still know when the batteries are fully charged and stop feeding the batteries electricity?

As far as I know, you don't need need one. but do yourself a favor: spend a few bucks, play it safe, and buy one anyway.

Usually 'smart charger' refers to a charger for lithium batteries. Using it on any other type of battery is probably dangerous. Are you sure you have the right charger?

NiMh batteries do not need a protection circuit; such circuits dont even exist for NiMh batteries. Are you sure you know what kind of battery you have?

nimh batteries do use smart chargers when doing a speed charge.

but that is a good point. be sure what kind you have.
