Windows XP + File Sharing

On my PC downstairs, I have an account (obviously), now, on my new PC I want to be able to listen to the music I have downstairs, I set the permissions to shared, but when I double click a folder, I get a error message saying

Access is denied.

Check if the firewall is on or off...if on, make sure it is allowing you to share files.
