Wii online problems... please help

I have a Linksys WRT54G wireless router and when I go to set up the internet on my Wii, it finds my connection fine and everything (its got full connectivity bars), then I enter my WEP key, then, when I click "test connection" it just goes on and on and then freezes and tells me it encoutered a problem and can't connect to the internet. Does anybody have this router and had the same problem or knows how to fix it?

By the way, my DS connects perfectly to this router so I don't know whats going on...

1. Download the latest firmware for your router
2. Try typing in all your IP information manually. (If it takes too long for the router to broadcast it, your system will time it out. This happened w/ my US Robotics router & my DS...)

Oh and this is probablly a dumb question, but just what is firmware?

a lot of electronic devices (Wii, Routers, DS, 360) use Flash Memory to store the BIOS/Operating System, so they can be upgraded in the future.

You can find the latest firmware in your router's manufacturer's website. You'll have to type in your routers IP into a web browser (type in ipconfig at Command prompt, it's the Default Gateway you're looking for). When it asks for the Username & Password, just type "admin" in the username & it will let you through. Now navigate through the router's HTML interface until you see a page that says "Upgrade Firmware" or similar. It will then prompt you to locate a *.bin file that you should of downloaded. After it's done (it only takes a couple seconds), the router will restart, & *tada!!!*

Mine did the same thing, but then I realized I had the wrong WEP key. Make 100% sure that it's right.

I have this router. If someone wants to send me a Wii I'd be more than happy to try to figure it out. I will say that I have my Xbox connected to it and can get onto Xbox Live with no problems.

I also have that same router. My Wii and DS connect to it fine. We upgraded the firmware a while back though. (That was before I had either system.)
