As of late there is a company working to get OS X on more standard PC hardware. Kind of like the whole Macintosh clone program in the late 90s. So people that want an Apple would be able to get one for something like $500, rather then $1000+.

As for the generalization about Macs and the people that use them. So help me if I see anymore of stuff I may be tempted to edit out of your post if not delete the post altogether. We're all grownups here and some of you need to start acting like it.

People that use a Mac want it for the same reason Apple made a computer with a GUI and a one button mouse in 1984. Because it's easy for non-technical people. Have any of you though that people out in the real world might be too busy to worry or busy themselves with how a computer works or any things that requires significant time?

It's the opposite for people who use Linux/UNIX. We have the time to go in and tweek everything as we need it, because belive it or not there are people out there that will pay us to do that. It's a job field that's worth getting it. So I guess my wasted time is all invested in getting a nice job that will let me live a comfortable life, right?

Now I apologize to those out there about this rant which is wasn't aimed toward. I just had to make it clear that many of you out there need to get your damn facts straight before you open your mouth and prove your and idiot.

As I have said before, and shall probably say many more times: They are all Personal Computers! Why has PC come to refer almost exclusively to Windows-based machines?
Shhh! I'm not officially back yet.

Because in the end you have only really three operating systems.

Windows- 3.1 to Vista
Mac OS- System 6 to OS X (though is could go in the group below)
Linux/UNIX- BSD, Linux, any other variation of UNIX style

Now because 95%+ of all desktop computers run a version of Windows, it has become the standard (by practice) for what a PC is.

Still, it's incorrect to call it Mac versus PC, as Mac is a PC... that's like saying Brita versus Water Filter... One's just a name-brand version of the other.
Also, what about GNU Hurd? GNU's not unix...

I run Ubuntu on my laptop, and it's great. Despite all the flaming about the gaming, WINE works very well for me...
