Friday my teacher's jump drive broke. I immediately sprung into action. I opened it up, I found three broken solder joints. I went to the technology classroom, found a 12w weller soldering iron and fixed it. All in about ten minutes. It was awesome.

Then he put all kinds of "expensive equipment do not touch" signs on it, hapazardly left it in the middle of the table, and plugged all the computers into it. Then some dumb kid decided "hey I can make it go twice as fast of I hook it up to the wall twice" and plugged a second uplink port into the main backbone switch and screwed the entire wing up. Windows XP Home can only keep 10 connections open at a time, and everything had to come off of it. Everything from documents to wallpaper to IE temp files. It took a half hour to log in.
My favorite one was when I was in 7th-8th grade, this was just about the time USB flash drives were coming out. The "sysadmin" (I use quotes because he was terrible) said that he only wanted us to use the front USB ports, if we use the back USB ports the computer might get a virus.bicostp wrote:No kidding.

I won't spoil anything, but it was in reaction to something in the post-credits scene. He just went nuts, cheering and yelling, and scared the hell out of the entire theater. They brought in a tech guy.
He spent 45 minutes trying stuff, and eventually gave up, placing an "out of order" sign on it.
Holding back laughter, I asked what was wrong.
He said it had a virus and had to be parted for other laptops.
The next day, I used that laptop during class, than put the sign back on it and turned the switch back off.
