The only thing I've done is cut off the side of the board, but only slightly to make room, is was only ground.

Which means l the only thing that could have happened it a piece of metal shorting something. It doesn't really matter, I just want to make sure I don't do the same thing with the new screen, but it would be awesome if I could fix this one.

Have you tried jumping the fuse?

You mean the one on the bottom part of the board? Yeah I already tried that one.

THE SAME FREAKING THING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The new screen I just led modded and now it's not working either, no picture, and no indicator when I push the volume and brightness buttons.

The screen was working perfectly before I opened it. I either killed both screens or there's a common problem that I keep missing.

are you sure the ribbon cable is in correctly? I had something similar happen and I was trippin out until I looked saw that the ribbon was not hooked up.

I've tried the old screen with the new board and the new screen with the new board and old board.

I'm getting really frustrated. I'm so close to an n64p I can taste it.

Nope, the ground just sucked. And praying helped to.



Alright, I'm almost done with it. I'm taking a break now and will most likely finish tomorrow. It is going to be a tight fit in there though. It might not even close all the way, but I don't care, it's awesome.

Looks like I'm going to have to spoil a surprise on my n64 because I need help with it.


I have a 6PDT switch on my n64 to switch between the joystick and d pad.

But I also need to switch between Z and L button.

I can't do anything to the case since it's finished though. So I was wondering if there was a way to skip one of the prongs on the joystick so I have an extra switch for the trigger. However, I found that multiple cords hooked up to one prong keep the joystick from working. So I don't think that I can wire 1 prong to multiple connections without a switch.


Also I'm having a bit of trouble getting the d pad joystick replacement to work. Does anyone have that working diagram anymore?

Ok this thing is really making me angry. The d pad wont work with the switch, the battery is acting up again, and I can't attach the video line to both the jack and screen or else it won't work.


So yeah, my current issues.

yes, you'll need a switch if you want to use an output jack.

Alright everyone, I've got a real update in the first post.

I'm going to excuse most aesthetic errors in the final product as long as everything works.

Triggers and buttons are fixed, I just have to fix the battery now.

Looking lovely for a first portable. Really small too, well maybe too small if you can't get everything to fit
