Hang on, maybe we can circumspect your work (if it is even necessary). Actually, if you can take a Macro shot of your work (yttu wrote a guide about it), maybe it could uncover some micro problems. Also, are you sure about the rom chip pinouts and the position of it on the cartslot? Sorry to see the troubles.

I see Radica's at Target all the time. I have also seen them in CVS, Walmart (I saw it on the shelf in the redneck section), and once in a gas station.

Yeah, they're all over Target, and the occasional Walmart. In fact, I've yet to go into a Target and NOT see a Radica! Mine was actually having a sale on them (well, on the version 2 red sonic ones, anyways) for $10! That's when I grabbed mine.

Also, does anyone know if the Gold Sonic Radicas will work? I don't think anyone's ever tried one, and I didn't get that version for precisely that reason.

Yeah, mine had the sonic ones for 20$ for several weeks. Then one day I went in and they were on sale for 10$ and I didn't have my wallet, and the next time I came they were gone. I've seen them up again, but I am not willing to pay 20$ for one.

It would be interesting to see if the roms are indeed the original.
Certain memory addresses for instance may have been xored, who knows.

the roms are, paulpomids.... whatever, in the sticky wired one up to a crappy game and said it worked

Thinking aloud, taking the bank switching circuit may have been enough to give a good rom image? Wiring to the chip or the rom points bypasses this?[/code]

G-Force unless you destroyed the ROM chip for the RADICA just wire it up like a cartridge and try it out...

Wow... Over 2000 views, and I haven't even finished!

@demonofaj: Yeah, I'm sure I wired it exactly as Ben showed in his diagram. I used the VCC and GND point as references.

@lovablechevy: LED mod; check. Didn't have a choice really, since the transformer stuck a good inch and a half off the board, the LCD wouldn't have fit if I didn't cut it off. More on this later. And yes, the Ev-4500 is the TV I'm using.

@Krepticor: Why? Even if I did and it worked/did nothing, it wouldnt say anything about the radica...

Once I get over this cold virus I'm fighting I will look over the wires again. I can't stand to look at the possible failure right now.

I have a question to anyone who has done this mod: I've heard that if the wires are longer than 3" that it can mess it up. Yet, bens wires look much longer than that. Mine are 4.5" long, could that be the reason no games will show?

The longer the wire, the more resistance. So the shorter the better, as there will be less power loss. Though I've never heard of an extra inch or two killing anyone.

Well, most people use wire thicker than the wire inside controllers and AV cords, and that works just fine, so it must not be something to be too paranoid about inside a self contained unit.

thething I said is to test the radica by attaching it the factory way... tat way you can debug that then move on the cart slot it is what I would do but that is just me...

So am I to assume that this project is dead? Have you still not gotten a new radica? The suspense is killing me!
