well, here's my take on the whole controller bit.

I think this is one of the most bold movements in video game history. To completely drop video games and back away and just see what happens, you really get a good view about what is good. They broke ground with the 8 bit simple home console. Sega brought games to a faster modern pace. The Dreamcast brought internet to consoles in a whole new way. Now Nintendo is making a very bold move by doing something most companies would never even debate about doing. In my oppinion Nintendo taking video games to a very different level, and I think only good things will come of it. And how everyone is saying it will be garbage, and it will. It will be a very bad controller for current video games. But the revolution wont be playing games like current generation video games. The controller alone is forshadowing a lot by itself. Revolution games wont be a PS3 game, or a Xbox 360 game either. They will be games nintendo only dreamed about back in the NES days. It will be everything seen on every console they've made, along with others. It will be a reformed, post modern video game atmosphere. And it will take awhile to do this. A project like this should not be rushed as fast as the Revolution has in the period of the beginning to when it comes to shelves. This is what Sega did with the Saturn. Since then nothing has changed at all. The Saturn had internet, VCDs, 3-D graphics, and CDs. As far as im concerned, all of these things have just been revised in every console that has came since. Now this is Nintendo's chance to take video games to the next level. I do have a feeling no one except Nintendo will be able to program quality software for the console for a long period of time. It may be the only setback to the entire situation. But i think Nintendo already thought of that. Instantly with the backwards compatablity, they can be spared 6 months at most from falling flat on their faces and getting into the swing of things. Either that or they have thought of that already. They very well could have many smart and creative indeviduals who will just know exactly what to do with this technology. Most people probably wont go down the Nintendo path until they gain some credability with software. This console definitely wont be for the average modern gamer. It will for everyone. It's simplicity is its charm. I think Nintendo will put up a good fight, it will be interesting to see.

yeah, but you can use a GC controller with it so I think the motion senseing thing about it is just going to be with exclusive titles.

I completely agree. The ps3 controller looks like a 3rd party ps2 controller, the xbox looks like crap. But this one is the clincher. I mean what retard thought this one up. Sure it will be good for fighting games like Zelda. But there are more games than that. I will still buy the revolution, but as soon as i get it ill just plug my gc controller into it. Why couldnt they have just made a cooler looking gc controller. People are saying there going out of the box, but this is too far out. Consumers won't buy it, because theyll see it in a store and say what the hell is that? Oh wait look, I know how to play playstation, Ill just go buy that. They should include this controller as an option, not standard.

But since nintendo likes to makes things relativly cheap, ill say its going to be $150-200 u.s, but the ps3 will be about $600, and with too many "packages" for the xbox 360 no one will know which one to buy. so i think the revolution will win based on that alone.

No, ps3 = $400- $450
NR = $200 - $250
X360 = Who cares cause no one is gonna buy it any ways. Also the ps3 is about 35x faster than the NR, so its worth the extra money. Plus though the controller is ugly, at least it doesnt look like a tv remote. Hey wait. If the NR's controller is so gosh darn wireless, how come the analog stick is conected to the rest of the controller with a wire? Stick that in your pipe and smoke it Nintendo.

Well, I have to agree with the anti-NR people. List time!

1. The point of a controller is to be aplicable and unbiased for every game. A consoles standard controller shouldn't be perfect for one genre or another.

2. People don't take well to big changes. The only exception I can think of is graphics (and Nintendo won't do that ie: remakes, NES Classics). So completely changing a controller configuration won't entice people to use it. It will convince them that SM has finnally lost it and, seeing the PS3's peice of garbage, they will head for the XB360.

3. Also, how "revolutionary" is a VR remote controller? Not very.

4. Nintendo is notorious for squandering opportunities. Do you really think they'll make a bunch of great games for this system? I don't.

Now I am all for being wrong, but I don't really think I am. Time has a way of telling, though...

EDIT: Their best chance:

Yea...MF? How do you know how many articles I read? I've read 3. Also, it's not about what people say, it's about what they're not saying. And what they aren't saying is how you're going to apply this thing to EVERY genre...they'll need to...

PS: Wasn't agreeing with you... :?
