My second project!!!

This project is ALMOST complete! All I need to do is find out which pin to cut so the genesis cart will turn on instead of the radica rom and then I can put it away in the case.

The SNES, I need another PSONE Screen (which I just won it on ebay today) and I need to remake the case as well using the shell from the PSONE that turbo tax is sending me. I'll explain more in details what I want to do for the mSNESp in the snes forum under the cart slot topic. Give me a few minutes to make a quick diagram and I'll post it all up.

I can't wait to see it, I'm sure it'll be awesome. And by some bizarre chance, I was watching the exact same ebay auction, and just forgot to bid until it ended. I was very surprised to see you as the winning bidder. Good to hear you won though, and a fairly low price too.

Mybe you can fry/ jump the pin which activates the rom, it seems oK in all sorts.

fyi snes controller wire=the suxorz lol. its flimsy stuff. i want to do a radica sometime, they have those maddens for sale at walmart for 10$, think one of those would work?

Does the rom chip contain 64 pins.

Not too sure really, but the Radica Menacer looks cool! =D

I took off the rom chip and resoldered EVERYTHING back on AGAIN!!! Tomorrow, when I get back to work, I'll check it out with another genesis cart because the one I have at work wasn't starting...hope it is the game and not the board...don't wanna solder all that to ANOTHER radica.

I'll let you know tomorrow what's going on.

I tried another game...two other games actually, and it didn't start up. So, i took out another radica I had purchased, took off the rom chip, and soldered wires AGAIN onto the traces themselves. Nothing still...I don't know if I am doing this wrong or what but this really blows, that's for sure. Oh, and I did check to see if the cart was backwards =P

Is it possible that the streetfighter/gng pinout might be different that the sonic one?

What I am going to do, is put out an offer to anyone out there that has successfully soldered a cart slot onto the radica. If you would like to solder one on for me, I'll happily pay you for your services. Anyone up to it?

One more thing...on the pinout sheet, there is something that says NC on the rom. Does that connect to anything or does it mean "No Connection"? IF that's my problem...then damn!

yep, NC means not connected... You might try tying them to ground (but it's proably better just to leave them floating.)

Here is other areas that bug me... the four three circled spots.

A21 and A22....where do they connect to???????????

!OE and !CE_L - Just connect them to OE and CE? or is something else supposed to be done there?

Wait, the ground pins on the rom chip go to ANY ground prong on the cart slot

I know...i just don't know those 4 specific things...if the !OE (and !CE_L) means anything special or if it just connects to the OE spot on the cart. As for the other two A21 and A22...there is no spot on the rom chip for it...Not sure if that really needs to be connected anywhere or what.

Right now, I have two radicas just sitting down doing nothing because i can get it started up. I need to find out which radica ben used to make his exodus. Then I'll buy that same one, and try one more time...if it doesn't work after that...i quit!
