You would be lucky to find anything remotly small enugh to fit inside.

It didn't work, for you at least, at the same time as the screen, and I rather like being able to power the screen from the same source as my board.

There are boards that small, but are fairly expensive, unless you only want a 386. That $40 Pentium level board, that I posted about not long ago in another thread, is almost small enough to fit in GG.

maybe It can be cut down? A 386 isn't exactly going to play the best of games... I'm after Pentium 3/4

Nope, can't cut it down. Expect to pay $300+ if you want something higher than a Geode in that small of a size, unless you get really lucky. A 3.5" formfactor, like teraflop122 is using, might be able to fit in a Game Gear.

Something that is NOTORIOUSLY easy to forget about until construction begins is the size of all the support elements. My 3.5" Geode would very definitely fit inside the GameGear, but not the sound/USB board, and not my homebrew power circuit. Theoretically my motherboard + a screen and a CF card would run on 5-7 AA batteries, though only for an hour or so.

Speaking of screens, I have heard that the GG screen itself is practically impossible to hack...

So...a MAX787, ehh? (googles the specs)... I see (said the blind man). That does look handy.

I have returned from Hawaii! And let me tell you, everything there is almost exactly like America! They even use American money and the English language! Ok, Ok. But seriously, Hawaii is strange in the sense that it is "Pseudo-Foreign", yet part of America anyways.

These are what I want to acheive during the remaining portions of summer vacation:

1. Complete PCp as per revised plans
2. Sell at least 6 computers on eBay
3. Complete my Sonic The Hedgehog game engine
4. Buy pet Rats
5. POSSIBBLY sell off my super water-cooled gaming rig...so I can make ANOTHER super water-cooled gaming rig ~_~

As for the revised PCp plans: the device will once again be made to fit into a small PC game box. The power circuit will be ripped to shreds and rebuilt using just 3 7805's planted in a solderless thread-board. The only components present will be the mobo, the PSone screen, a 256-1GB CompactFlash card, some rudimentary controls, the power circuit, and the new batteries.

Now the system will have an internal 10.5v 2000mAH Li-Ion pack, and a second 7.2v 2000-2400mAH Li-Ion pack, which will power the screen alone. This setup will yeild just about an hour or so of play time, which is good for my purposes. I will still build a gigantic D-cell brick of batteries for long duration events in which I need the 6-10 hours mentioned earlier.

With no funds, however, the project is at a standstill...for now.
