They are in the Book Forum.

The only real problem we have as far as stupid threads are really coming from the newbies. They don't read the rules and don't search to see that their question has been answered and so can save Ben Bandwidth.

Now I know I might be getting out of line a bit but if we want to save Ben some bandwidth what about making an archive one Doomportables? We can already do that with the old one, there was even a thread about going through the old post to get useful info and sort them. So what about making an archive of threads that are about useful info.
We also need to work to point out to the newbies about the exsistance of outsides sources. Too many of them are just asking questions that can all be answered on Doomportables or NESp site, and so one.

that's not a bad idea, though I think the DNS bug (I know, it's probably not DNS, but that's what everyone is used to calling it) should be resolved first, otherwise this site is fairly useless to ~25% of people

newbies need to start somewhere. It'd be nice if they used the search funcion first, but not everything is on this board. Heck, my first post was asking if a certain kind of potentiometer I saw online at radio shack would work. As for spam, there will always be those people that you really want to go away, but can't really ban as they haven't done anything wrong. It really seems like you (along with a few other members) should be a bit more tolerant with the newbies.

^^ just my $.02

Its not that i am not tolerant i just get sick of the same post appearing every other day. As for spam it shouldn't be there and they should have to agree to something saying they won't. Then they can be banned because they aren't following the rules. The spamming is ridiculous. I came on one day and saw at least 3 or 4 of those sign up on this to help me get a free peanut butter and jelly sandwhichj. Its ridiculous GO TO ATARIAGE if you want to SPAM. I am sick of it. I read the rules before I joined and I wsih everyone else would.

um, the spam on AtariAge is next to nothing, and the obvious stuff is deleted pretty quickly (usually within an hour or 2)

as for the "sign up here so I can get this" type of thing, it hasn't come up in weeks, and is not very frequent.

Spam is non-existant on AA.

I am going to refer to Link89 as Jack (not you, JackFrost22!), so here is a part of our discussion over Xbox:

Jack: We should make a new benheck.com on one of my extra computers.
Me: That souds good, when should we do it?

That's all.

The thing is the community will not grow if we dont have newbies come, join and learn.

As for spam. Think of it this way; you can have all the protection on your email account and software installed on your computer but it will not be perfect. You'll either end up missing messages from people that want to contact you and talk directly or as usual some spam will slip in.

Face reality that these things can not be done away with. We can as some said have mods around to limit it but it happens.

sorry spring break and still no internet. but i do have my lady friend to keep me company :) and i just rolled the fatest joint EVER it was the best of the bets joints. about the size of a stogy, i like how this fourm can be great at pooling general video game info. when ever we step out of these bounds into personal information people can start to argue over pointless things. this forum sould be about the portables and video game things.

I LOVE THIS FORUM! all the REfrom we are looking for sould only be to reforum our selfs and not the forum.
