Portable N64 design, need input.

It will be a while, I am still collecting parts and learning.

Until then I am making a genesis handheld, simply to learn everything before I fry a system I care about.

yeah that should be super easy or you could try a noac portable they are pretty cheap to make also.

I resently got a portable DVD player with a broken dvd drive. From that I took the screen out and adapted it to a RCA jack so I could use it for testing and stuff. When I was doing that I learned a lot about how to fit things together, so I have a new plan for the N64.

Useing my old design for a basis I have (mentaly, not rendered models) designed a newer version, a lot more like a portable DVD player.

The consept is quite simple:

Both the power and a/v jacks will be removed and in that ganeral location I will make a slot for the DVD player's battery to fit in. In useing the DVD's battery I can still run the N64 off it and I wont need a seperate regulator for the screen. (I will also have a car/wall adapter jack right in there)

The cartridge slot will be relocated as to feed from the right side of the main body. The connector itself will be located slightly to the right of the jumper/expandtion pack slot.

On the left side I will have a set of RCA jacks, so I can still play the N64 on a regular TV, but I also will have a switch that will allow it to input to the screen. Just a nice little feature.

Both controler ports will be removed and given 1" leads so I can position them better to the new case without having to adjust everything else.

Power and display mode switches will be on the top aso to not be switching them around when the screen is down.

All of the DVD guts will be on in the screen section, seeing as it worked quite well for my little screen.

And to control the heat I will have a small 1"x1" fan to draw air over the heatsinks placed on the ICs. (There will be a vent so it can move through.)

I doubt much of this made since, I am tired and really don't feal like making a 3d model to explane it atm. So if you could actualy understand it, please post your thoughts.
