lol! yeah, yeah they are. there some shorts i couldn't care less about. so i wear them for project work so it doesn't matter if epoxy, spot putty, super glue, hot glue, or any other number of things get on them.

Cool, here's mine.

Just received four NDS Lite batteries from Hong Kong, 1800mAh each, 3.7v. I have two coming that are 2000mAh each too. I have one charger, bought another one too which will arrive in the next days.

As you see, my project is so small I had to cut off some of the grounding of the PSone mobo (planned). The d-pad and button boards come pretty well to the very edges of the case. The d-pad is in place (after some fiddling), need to test it properly; buttons mobo placed in place in pic, not secured yet. Also need to put in a left and right shoulder button, audio jack and audio/composite jack are attached to back of casing to close onto front piece, I may also put in a mains power connector as an option to using batteries for the GBA as it is power-sucking with tv out; although battery power is perfectly fine. Lots of wiring to do, female port needs modding and wiring up. The small spaces I have in the case will soon fill with wires...

Lots to do, and I have only 8 days available before the end of the month to complete the work - days i'm not working and can spend time on the project that is. Tight timescale. This should be a corker of a system once done - ambitious project, more complex as most projects as a normal project is wiring A>B, this is interacting via a small female port, like on my Multi-Platform system but a much smaller scale.

The wiring to the plug'n'plays is just as demanding as on a bigger system in that the boards need trimming, all the solder points need wiring to and connecting to hacked trace boards - same principle, but smaller and fiddlier.

Anyway, pic to far for your delectation:

I will get some plug'n'plays made in to carts for the system before contest ends, although I might not have enough time to add the GBA system to this as that will need a fair bit of work done.

In the pic below you can see the case backing, with the audio jack and audio/composite jacks sticking out, the female port (needs further modding) and two batteries in place (roughly). The plug'n'play carts will be made to fit on top of the battery area using hacked GB carts (as per left of screen). This gives a slim system with lots of handhold areas. I can do this as the batteries are slim.

I haven't updated my website with these pics yet, will do in a couple of days!!

Nice bacteria! Cant help but wonder, what ever gave you the idea of DS lite batteries? So you will have 8.4v at 2000mah right?

Oh and spinout, you had better make that sucker real nice, mkay? I know what your capable of, don't think I;ve forgotten what you did at the both of the controller contests, I loved those!

And, I've noticed that a lot of people have started taking to doing the anti glare screen mod to thier portables.... And here I though I was the only one, I've done it twice!

Excellent mate, pleased to hear it!

I was wanting slim Li-ions and thought laterally - thought about my NDS fhat - however they only use 850mAh cells, which are useless. I searched on e-bay to see if I could get better ones, saw I could get up to 2000mAh with NDS Lite, however I don't have a Lite so can't recharge the batteries. Another search on e-bay, found chargers, but need it to work via USB as our power supply is different in the UK - found the one I got - USB. So, I now have 4 cells, 2 more coming; one charger, one more coming.

No idea how long they will run a PSone screen and plug'n'plays, should be perhaps 2 hours maybe, between charges??

I might have space to put two OR four of these batteries in the system at the same time (3600mAh or 4000mAh), need to work out the space I have to play with.

Just tested my D-pad by soldering wires to the connectors on a newly opened plug'n'play and connecting these wires to my system using crocodile clips and playing off that - played Pacman for a short while - plays great and the hole I spent ages cutting out is the perfect size too.

No/little project time today or tomorrow, but working on it for 1/2 day on Friday!!

Indeed. Only projects started after the contest started are eligible. Let's not have any entries started before the contest actually started - that is unfair and not in the spirit of the compo.

Hey bacteria: Hate to break it to you, but there is NO way that those batteries are 1800 or 2000mah. A DS lite battery is standard 1000mah. Because it has pretty much no casing, just the cell. I have gotten some ones from dealextreme, and those chinese DS Lite batteries work out to 800-900mah, not even the rated 1000mah on the stock battery. Same thing with those "3600mah" PSP batteries on ebay, that are the same size as an official 1800mah one.

If something seems too good to be true, it probably is.

With your 4 cells, I would count on 7.4 at 2000mah. If you are lucky.

Or maybe, its exactly as he says. 600-1000mAh cant be that hard to add, can it?

Now, if it were 2000mah, then maybe two thinner cells stacked? After all, It has been awhile since both were released.

If the stock batteries are already at 1000mah, what makes 2000mah in parrallell so lucky?

However, chinese ripoffs have been know to exceed or destroy.
One 2 gig mem stick = only ~1gig
One 2 gig mem stick = Around ~2.5 gig(although I dont remember....)

Sometimes they work, sometimes they are crap.

To bad I cant enter my FIC. I guess I will just have to enter my SNESp V2 and I might be able to finish this super secret portable (bought parts last night! so a 1 week portable!)

Not really, I had design concepts I posted back then but I didn't actually make a cut in the case until about July 10th... when I made a post saying I bought some controllers. This portable looks nothing like the one I had designed in April. I Have receipts showing that I only ordered things between July 8th and the 12th. The only similarities this one has to my previous design is that they share a j-pak, the same style case, and the screen. Which, I'm sure some people had already had stuff bought that they used in their entry.

All of that work that I showed in my work log posts before the 13th is completely irreverent to the current project. The batteries are different, the controller is different (I bought this one on the 12th), the n64 is different, the aluminum and acrylic was bought just a week ago, and the primer was bought 3 days ago. Hell, even the heat sinks are different.

So, if that is not proof enough, how about I finish 10 days early seeing as I sort of started 10 days early?
