I got the DS! Who else is getting one?

I never thought I'd say this....but ben is a moron. The DS ain't a gimmick, the touchscreen and microphone enable whole new forms of gameplay(FPS on a handheld!), the wireless multiplayer means you can walk into any gamestore or internet cafe, hit the button, and challenge people to a game, it has at least N64 level graphics(mario 64 on the go!), and about the stylus thing: The lanyerd-esque item it comes with has a little plastic "shoe" that you can use instead.

Shall I go on?

i think bens more anti new systems.. and existing non hand built portables like im anti crappy systems (like the cube psone ps2 saturn sega cd xbox any ataris that did not sell the game gear some what the n64 gba the sp and any future playstation systems cus of my miss trust of crap) actualy a list of the systems i like are eazer (neogeo color dreamcast sp snes nes atari 2600 linix some what n64 and the ds)

I won't be hating the PSP. Definitely not. That thing is going to be one beautiful piece of hardware.

I know both hae their pros and cons I just like the PSPs pros more than the DSs pros.

like what.. and did you see what i put on my hate list theres a few nintendo systems.. also i vary much hate CD systems solid state all the way!

also theres no appeal with the psp.. no doubt theres going to be a lot of realy stupid genaric FPS games coming out for it and to tell you the truth GT4 looks like its still going to suck

Let's picture this... What if it was Sony releasing the DS and Nintendo releasing something exactly like the PSP. I think the Nintendo fan boys would jump all over the DS then, claiming it was a piece of junk. What happened to being objective? They're BOTH good systems. People complain about how UMD sucks because it's proprietary crap. God forbid Sony wants to prevent people from copying their games.

Cennar, you claim that there's no appeal for the PSP. What's your basis? GT4 will suck? Why? Give reasons. Without reasons, you're just a biased fanboy.

Look, I like what both Nintendo AND Sony releases. But it seems like everyone wants to love one and hate the other. It's like we're afraid of innovation. I'm sure there were people who fought against change at the end of every era of consoles. When the Genesis came out, I'm sure there were people playing NES who refused to give it a chance solely because it wasn't Nintendo, even though Genesis had the potential for more complex and in-depth games.

This is not flaming. It's just my thoughts on the whole thing. It's about games. And if you enjoy a game, who cares what system it's on? It's funny because there are Sony haters that honestly claim not to like a single game on Playstation. I agree and Cennar some cons for the DS is hard to work controls(at least for me) and a non removable battery. PSPs pros are good battery life 6 hours average. When am I gonna play more than that on a handheld and will have replacable batteries like a cellphone.

Though I now have plenty of money, and could get the DS. I think I'll wait until its $100 or less. Maybe by then there will be more games I'll be drawn to, I know I'll like Mario 64DS but Metroid is only curiosity.

*sigh* come guys, let's not start a war here...so what if one guy likes one system? is it gonna make that much of a different to you if he buys a certain system? I don't think so....just play the systems and games you want and stop arguing about which one is better......not all gamers are the same, some like different aspects in a system, so don't go hating on someone because they are a different gamer than you.....
