Just as well you got good Bug alternators over there in the US!

The Bug's electrics was pretty limited originally. Mine only had a 30 amp dynamo when I first got it. Luckily you can get alternators these days that work on Bugs. 30 amps might seem like a lot but when you switch on the headlights (bear in mind they're usually 55-60 watts each, then add all the other lights up, and if it's raining, you'll need wipers, it all adds up)

I would recommend before you even attempt to pimp out a Bug with all the electronics, be sure to rewire all the electrics. Mine has been on fire THREE TIMES, and twice was due to dodgy electrics. Luckily I've always carried a fire extinguisher. When you think about it, you're supposed to rewire a house every 25 years (at least you are in the UK) consider my Bug is 35 years old......

I'm actually writing a book on rewiring Bugs from scratch.
I've often found if people spend less time worrying about what someone the other side of the world has posted on an internet forum and more time getting laid, they'll be a lot less tense.
