Flaming unicycle stunts
Moderator: Moderators
I was camping once and I was taking a picture of some people there and with the camera up to my eye I backed up to get everyone in the view, unfortunatly I forgot the campfire was behind me and I put a leg into it, luckly there was a lake about 5 ft away and I was able to put the fire out before it burned me too badly, tho I had no hair on my leg for about for about a week and I had to buy some new pants because they were all tarred.

The medication situation is rather slow to resolve, but unitl then I've been having some minor issues with the track. Since my skill levels are continually changing (I'm getting pretty good at hopping and jumping), I keep thinking of ways to redo the track. Also, I plan to do this with a friend filming, so I want/need to do it on a weekend night (something like midnight). And then my biggest concern after that is that the only place I can do this feasably is on the schoolyard about a block away, but unfortunately I think flames (especially green ones, which sound a lot more fun) would draw a lot of attention from worried neighbors and christian soccer moms. Also, I need a camera, but I think I can get that covered.
Of course, I'm listening to all the advice, so please keep it coming. I may end up doing it this weekend if I can get all the stuff I need.

As far as I know theres nothing iligall about lighting yourself on fire. So all they can do is tell you your stupid.
Now are we talking intire body burn or just pants? because you might want to go get a fireproof suit from a gocart raceing place. If the burns going to be anything over 5 seconds, full body without protective cloathing, expect to have a lot of first degree burns all over your body and have no hair or eyebrows. The bigest danger of a full body burn is scaring your eyes and causeing posible permenet blindness.
Just so you know.

Well the point of this course is that I hopefully won't be fire, unless I screw up, in which case I'll have my friend on standby with a fire extinguisher. Also, I'll be using a gasmask, so I don't have to worry about my eyes melting out).
And since this will be on school property (only on asphalt though), yes, I think it may well be unlawful, though I doubt I would melt the asphalt.

I believe that most people with compotent electronic knowledge on this forum is a pyromaniac, it's just so much fun. Normal kids think putting a lighter to a deoderant can is cool but adding metals and explosive compounds is much better. I'd suggest adding some magnesium to get some light from the fire, Just don't look directly at it.Kurt_ wrote:I guarantee you fanboy, I am more of a pyro than you. I have a chemical rack. I have potassium nitrate that's beaded, ground, and purified. I have granular carbon and carbon dust. magnesium filings, sulfur, and ground aluminum. and some homemade rust.
Speaking of which, has anybody made thermite and got it to work? I can't get my aluminum fine enough, and then I ahd to stop for winter on account of the steam explosions that would occur from the molten iron that would be produced. I love my pyrotechnics! I think my next thing will be making some balck cats with my extra gunpowder from last year that i made.

Flaming stunts are fun!
back in my exuberant youth (ok last year
) me and some friends we just stuffing around in these old bunkers in a forest just out of town.
mmmm flaming skateboard....
Also we were doing the ol' ball of flame in your hand trick where you spray some deoderant on your hand and light and laugh manically and then wave your hand around shouting profanites
One of my friends was decided he wasnt going to do that so instead put his gloves on and did it, forgetting of course that his gloves were made of polyester....
Which leads me to my fire safety tip!
dont wear synthetic clothes (polyester nylon etc) cos when that stuff melts it hurts, or so my friend found out
(and no i am not using "my friend" as a euphismism for myself
)

Go to www.totse.com. They might have something there.
CAUTION!!!
A lot of their stuff has to do with HIGH powered explosives, but they have some cool things to do with colored smoke.

Do you have it in .mpg format? My poor little OS 9 Mac is overwhelmed by the power of the .wmv.Kurt_ wrote:I guess this is considered a bump. Here's my video.

As far as fuel goes, alcohol does sound like a good idea.

Totse is mostly for, like you said, high powered explosives. It's not really for sane people.
Rotteneggs.com has some ok ideas, but the community is composed of flamers and flaming mods.
(I have some of my ideas up there too
Go "Easiest, Best smoke bombs you'll ever make."!)
@ SMM: I'm not going to convert it. It's punishment for 3 things:
1) You having a mac.
2) You having a bad computer.
3) You having a bad mac.
Maybe some other niceling will help you out though.
