Ive found a product that I would need, but ive ran across a problem...
TO access this chip on the board, I would have to Desolder it from the board, put it in the device, and then solder it back in. 20 pins within 6/16 of an inch.(or about 9mm)
that would leave 2-3 pins in each millimeter.
I Know that I do not have any soldering practice with working on something so small, so i am unshure what do do.
I know that getting the chip off would be OK, but getting it back on may be hard.

Either buy or make a socket for the chip on both the writer and the board.

Apparently some people on this forum have problems reading and understanding...I Know that I do not have any soldering practice with working on something so small
From the pics that you posted, the Intel chip itself is a TSOP package. It sits on an adapter baord thats called DIP. It looks to be 40 pin, if im not mistaken. I dont feel like counting th pins, so beh to you. You could remove the whole 40 pin dip board and solder wires to it, solder wires to it then to an actual 40 pin DIP adapter board of some kind (any board will do) or just add legs to the 40 pin dip board thats allready there. check out http://www.jameco.com/webapp/wcs/stores ... yId=303010 to understand more.
If its not 40 pin DIP, and u need more pins, just use multiple sockets...

About the mappers, its not that the system doesn't support them- it probably does. But since you're just loading the rom files from flash memory, it probably wouldn't work, unless the system has the mappers built-in. (very unlikely). So your system will probably only be able to play the older simple games.

mappers are aredware based. its usually just 70xx series logic gates, aka "glue logic". It shouldnt be too hard to add in some harsware mappers and such, but the real question is, it is worth it?

As for pictures, Im getting NES ones Now, Its Suh-weet. It may be done in less than 2 weeks, on the 29th hoping to get a screen. If I dont get the screen I will add some time to that.
The 29 is on a monday, So if I have the screen Il be done by friday.
ALSO If I get a hip gear screen I may post a HOW TO of the hip gear screen with pictures.(ps2 version)

Sorry to revive my old thread, but Ive decided to work on it again!
I found some info on one of the other chips on this thing,
KM62256BLG-10L RAM 32K*8
So weve got a glop top, some little ram chip and A flash memory device.
So what do I plan to do? Well for right now, I;m not shure. I'd guess im going to study it more, and then mabye Il get some inspiration. This would be really cool to get working, but I'm shure its far from that point.
Also it would be nice to get this moved to the NES section, as it is a NES clone! Thanks.

Awesome! This is quite similar to my Big Lots noac, except it looks like those asians wanted to save costs and used a glop-top flash chip instead. So, I have no information on it except it's 44 pins. It's of poor quality because some of the games are corrupted.
If we could find a 5v flash memory chip and the appropriate programmer, we might be onto something.

Well you could use the same chip, 44 pin PSOP instead of the 40 pin TSOP.
(that is, It if worked.)

Hmm. I Could do a couple things.
Option 1: I would like to get another Handy boy, and attempt to remove the flash chip, make my own custom board for it to be easilly accessible, and make my own flash programmer to access the data. I'd probably use a SNES cart and Snes cart port, Remove all the Chips and parts on the cart. board, and wire the leads to different pins on the board.(easier access).
If I did option 1, I'd need a lot of help. 1st of all, I'd have to make a custom Pcb to attach to the snes cart board, and wire the cart port to the pin slots on the flash programmer thing.
(Note I'm not using any circuitry from the SNES cart. Just using its shape and accessibility, plug in,upload, erase, download, and and put back in the "handy boy"
Option 2: Go with what Ive got. I like the cart. port idea, so I'm sticking to that. its easy and it'll work. I would again have to make a custom board to attach to the SNES board, etc.
So what to get? A flash programmer? And once I get one, what would I do? thanks!
Option 3: Be extremley lazy, have no fun, and give it to somebody else and have them do all the work
