I would only screw around with CRT monitors if you know and have done it a lot of times.

if your worked on arcades then id say go for it altho i don't think the risk is worth it.

You can still get shocked after discharged tubes you just don't know if all the voltage has gone out.

it's not worth it let it be i say

just basically duct tape a console to a tv, then make a nice case

If you really wanted to do what the Nes TV did and make a base that the TV sits on and looks like it's intergrated and then add a plastic cover over the back and extend the AV wires to the actual game unit

Only thing is you can't run off the tv's power supply.

I just used a LCD and brought a old OHP from ebay (Over head projector)

You know the one's your seen in school.

Just grab a 15" LCD monitor and use that for the screen but you need 1 to be able to have the controller board moved so all the light can shine through the LCD

I can vouch that this does indeed work and is a reasonable way of making a very cheap data projector. You'll need a dedicated dark room to play it in during the day, however (the luminosity isn't quite up to scratch in my experience), a large white sheet or wall, and I'd advise you read this article first.

First of all i reccomend the bigger LCD the better.

The video SUCKS ASS when you watch tv etc on the lcd.

But when i plug in my Digital tv intot he lcd it looks FANTASTIC

I reccomend only using digital sources or a pc source for video

even cable sucks real bad on the lcd you need a high def source.

Im using our old projector screen and its great very viewable in the day and fantastic at night.

I got some pics of my snes playing on the screen in my room but my rooms small so it wasn't to big cause i couldnt move the projector back far enough.

But it's very cool and you should do what i did replace the light with a normal 100w light bulb which saves you on costly bulbs and you can't tell a difference in light output at night it's easy just gotta add a few fans

Also i didn't use any guides to do this cause i was doing this awhile ago and the only guide i saw on it was lumenlabs or something like that.

They reccomend using a 15" xga lcd but of course i couldnt wait to buy a xga lcd so i used the 7.6" lcd i have.
