Darn age thing...I should've been an eagle scout, but I joined the scouts a few months too late, and so I turned 18 shortly before becoming eligible for eagle. weaaaaaaaak.

Which is why JROTC is where it's at
You may be an Eagle Scout, but I'm a Cadet Major
I did do Boy Scouts, though - I stopped fairly early, however

Re: ahhh hot glue burns!!!
Since we're off topic. My dad became the youngest Eagle Scout at the time he was in the Boy Scouts. Back when being an Eagle Scout meant something, LOL.
He was an Eagle Scout 1 month after he turned 14. He lived in Massachusetts at the time.
This was back when at 12 years old they dropped you off in the woods in the snow and you had to camp for the weekend. Make your own fire, make your own snowshoes, trek back 20 miles to camp, with a 25lb backpack. Yea they thought it was fun.

Unfortunately, nowadays everyone and their fanilies would be sueing Boy Scouts for abuse or something if they did that...hailrazer wrote:Since we're off topic. My dad became the youngest Eagle Scout at the time he was in the Boy Scouts. Back when being an Eagle Scout meant something, LOL.

LOL we actually had to do something very much like that....of course, me and my friends weren't 12 years old at the time, much closer to the 16/17 areahailrazer wrote:Since we're off topic. So I drenched the 3/4 inch of wounded skin in triple anti-biotic ointment (only after rubbing an icecube on it for 5minutes). I am an Eagle scout but still, this freakin hurts! So any other advice would be great. Any advice to prevent scarring?!?!?!?!?
thx
Prevent scarring? Back in my day you wear scars with pride. Make up a cool back story for it. Like you fought a woolly mammoth for territorial rights in your back yard.

Re: ahhh hot glue burns!!!
On the topic of burns, I never really use those high heat hot glue guns, bad news. Anyway, my biggest incident with burning myself was in Metal Shop. We had melting pots that we used to liquify pewder in, and course we had an assortment of molds. The popular molds was the chess pieces, and while all seemed fairly easy to cool, except the Rook, which happened to be the thickest of all the pieces. Assuming I knew when it was safe to touch and throw into some cold water, I went to grab for this 500 degree piece of metal and burnt all my right hand finger prints off. One thing to mention about taking care of burns like that is to never fully bandage them, they need to breathe or the pain will become a whole lot worse.
