no, that's just it, it doesn't give a current IP, it just says "no link." The one time it worked it did that initially and then all of a sudden it gave me an IP, I copied the emulators, reset the console, tried again, and the copulate never worked. Is this any easier/more reliable/less retarded with a crossover cable? I was trying to avoid sinking any more money into this crap but it's looking like I don't have a choice. I should've stuck with my initial instinct that anything from Microsoft is a total piece of crap and never bothered with it in the first place.

There should be an option (I think its in the settings) to start and stop FTP. You might have to do that to your xbox. I've never had a problem with either of my modded xboxes.

buy or find what's called a "crossover ethernet cable," go to any radio shack, best buy, etc. and they'll know what you're talking about. Plug the cable into your computer and XBOX and download the FTP program of your choice (I use a mac and use FileZilla). Find a how to (there are tons) and pretty much just type in the IP address the XBOX gives you and type in "xbox" and "xbox" for username and password and type in "21" for the port. Your XBOX will show up like another hard drive in the FTP window and you can drag and drop files almost instantly. Be careful to keep the filenames short though, I found I couldn't copy roms if the file name was too long.

youll have to find them, but google is a good source for that kind of stuff.

also, with 250 gigs i would put a bunch of hd and dvd movies and a ton of games (xbox, and roms of the sort)

You could have a good chunk of the PSX library on your XBOX with a 250 GB hard drive. I always wondered, is 250 the biggest you can go? it seems everyone always says 250 if they upgraded their drive but I've never heard anyone say definitively that it is the biggest it can be. Imagine a 1 TB drive full of DVDs, PSX ISOs, XBOX games, and retro ROMs, good lord that would be a sweet all-in-one device, and pretty cheap too for what it is.

Still trying to get Xbox together

Can anybody tell me if there a Sega Genesis and other Emulator for Xbox? I know there is one but I don't think it plays the Sega Genesis games I'm use to, I could be wrong. And do anybody know good sites to find all Roms and ISOs? Just asking.

@17daysolderthannes: i think anything over 250 gigs is a pain in the butt as only some bios' support that much storage so something like that.

@leo931: its really easy to find roms on the net, just type in like psx roms or n64 roms ect.. on google and youll find plenty of sites, then just hunt around till you find a few good sites.

Ok, I'm just out of it they make hooking up a Xbox to laptop look easy but I just don't know anymore. I mean did the laptop IP address and the Xbox IP address and all that. And Downloaded FlashFXP is just won't show the Xbox files. Look I got nothing so if anybody, I mean anybody can help me feel free. I got the (crossover cable) and hook it up to the Xbox and the laptop but nothing. Securty Alerts Off, Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0 for both. I did the Gateway Xbox and laptop the same, I ping it but it just keep saying time out. What am I doing wrong, and if there any other way to do this?
