For prolonged periods of time, yes. But if it's just an hour or so every so often it's fine. Different amount of time for different people though, if you're one of those people who are always texting on their cellphone, small screens should be fine.
Maybe I'm fine because I'm a heavy cellphone gamer. 8)

But I tried watching Mythbusters on a screen the size of a Canadian Loonie. ($1 coin) It gave me migraines after 5 minutes.

Just a few questions on the 3" one
Does it have a headphone jack?
And Can it run off 4 AAs

I just received mine today, so I can answer this.

No headphone jack, but easily addable. It runs from a 12v power supply, which oddly enough wasn't included, I don't see any kind of step down regs on the board, and I haven't tested anything as of yet so I don't know exactly what it can run off.
