What's your favorite gaming System/game and why?

Gotta say my fave is Golden Axe, but not on any system, gotta go straight arcade. I like a LOT of arcade games, and built my own MAME cabinet (though it has been torn down for a couple of years for a conversion to a smaller/nicer cabinet). As far as consoles, I looove my SNES, and Link to the Past is one I still pull out and beat once from time to time. Final Fantasy IV, V, and VI, are great on the SNES as well. Also have to throw in Zanac for the NES, HARDEST space shooter EVER. I've beat it once, and now it is my internet namesake.

I will definitely have to check LO out in the future it seems.CronoTriggerfan wrote:Yeah, it's really awesome. A bit slow and grindy, but what JRPG isn't?The graphics are incredible, the score is fantastic, and though the story's a bit generic, the character development and voice acting is all top-notch. Eternal Sonata's an awesome one, too. I only rented it, but now that it's gone down in price, I may buy it. I guess I just appreciate that someone has the balls to try something different in a genre that's pretty monotonous.
As for a next-gen ActRaiser, who WOULDN'T want one?If Square-Enix retained all the rights after the merger, I think they could make one hella epic game on the new consoles. Just keep the strategy part; don't wanna make the same mistake twice! (God, ActRaiser 2 sucked).
I had the same reaction to ES. When I heard what the plot was, I figured I had to give it a shot just for the concept alone. Should be a good time.
I briefly tried Actraiser 2 once and it was lame. The strategy elements were what made the original so cool and they totally did away with them in the sequel. Ugh! And another LAME just for good measure.
