You know, I was thinking the same thing. Heck, VB is barely programming anymore. But game and RPG maker? Now that's just low. Which is why I didn't try either.

RPG Maker is only low if you don't edit the scripts/Know RGSS which is Ruby. Now If I was to enter a RPG Maker Game it would Have 100's of Scripts and tons of the default ones modified. I really don't want to enter it though, because it would win (I know that sounds rude, but it would because RPG Maker helped) But I do think RPG Maker is noobish.

Why is everyone bashing VB? It's great for beginners. What we should do is judge games in groups of Languages. Like VB, Game Maker, RMXP and then another ranking like C, C++, Java and another for other stuff like ASM and BASIC.

If anyone wants to see Screenshots of my RPG Maker Game, go here

No, VB is NOT good for beginners. It's an evil trap for beginners. They see it, and are like "ohhh easy programming", and then it will curse them, so that it will be three times as hard to learn the syntax of a proper programming language as soon as they use one.

I've done RPG maker, I've scripted on it, it's piss easy.

Now, let's just agree to disagree here tho, cause I don't wanna start a flamewar. After all, this is benols ridiculous contest, and not mine.

I don't get what the problem is with VB.NET. It's simple to code with but as powerful as any other .NET application. Why isn't it a programming lanuage, but the scripting engine in a shareware game creator is? Besides, my college had us go through a programming course (as a requirement for other courses), and what did we use? C++? Nope, we used VB.NET 2003.

Probably, it depends on how long it takes for me to get an IDT setup and keyboard input working.

Anybody want to guess what I'm coding? :P
