Yeah it allows you to dump the firmware.

We may have some good news here. I found out that is is

FIRMWARE 3.01

(I thought it was 3.10)

Does this mean I can run homebrew/downgrade?

If it is truly 3.01 it can be downgraded. The process isn't too complicated if you can follow directions. I recently downgraded a 3.01 and it was super easy. You will need access to an unpatched copy of GTA: Liberty City Stories, though. If you need more info, check out the forums at qj.net. They've got a lot of good info on how to downgrade and then upgrade to custom firmware.

What do you mean Unpatched Copy of GTA: LCS?
How do I tell if the game is unpatched? (I can rent the game, and use it to downgrade.)

Also, dont you only have to use the unpatched LCS for 3.03? Mines 3.01

I think the PSP has a bigger community I'd say. Besides the PSP is getting an N64 emulator in the works. The GP2x couldn't possibly run that.

About that, I can play SM64 at about 18 frames a second without sound and no major glitches (besides ghosts not existing), and up to an average of 30 in a couple of rooms. This is with PSP running at 333mhz, battery still lasts very good on lowest brightness.

these threads are really getting old, he got a psp so NO MORE MENTIONING HOW MUCH BETTER IT IS THAN THE GP2X OR VICE VERSA please! if i see any more fanboyism towards either system i will lock this thread. this thread is for HDC to ask for help with his PSP now not a debate about which is better. i have my opinions and everybody else has theirs lets leave it at that

Use your brain and find a 3.03 update

And to tell if GTA is unpatched is: The GTA: LCS Game will have a 2.0 Firmware update. Newer versions of the game have 2.6 i believe

Okay. So I actually have to play the GTA LCS game to see if it has a 2.0 update.

Hmm, I have a question. I have JUICED: Elimination, and it has a "PSP Update Ver 2.60" Could I use this to downgrade my 3.01 firmware to firmware 2.60? (With the downgrader program)

Also, so about the 3.03 issue. So, what do I do? Get a 3.01 to 3.03 upgrader?

Also, isnt 3.03 the one sided door? or is that if I go OVER firmware 3.03?

To get 3.03, just go find 3.03 on the internet. It really isn't very difficult to find. Sony should have it somewhere.

Find instructions detailling how to downgrade from your firmware to 1.5, and follow those directions exactly. Don't bother thinking about doing ANYTHING else unless you want a bricked PSP. Just, find instructions, read them, and do not deviate from them in the slightest. I had a TA-082, so I had more steps to follow and my heart was in my throat the entire time.
