I think the next contest shouldn't be bondoing based because everyone is voting for their favourite, not the best bondoed, I think Dark is a clear example of that.

I also think they should work, and not run over the deadline, because then that kinda also defeats the object of making a controller if it doesn't work, and if you've had more time than everyone else.

But its a bondoing competition, its only really for the looks.

But Tritons bondoing has cracks, so why is he winning? this isn't being judged by bondo skill when it should be, which is my point. It's being judged by originality, which isn't what we're voting on, and non-working controllers undermine the effort deployed by those creating working controllers, and those who go over the alloted time, have more time to make their controller, also unfair on those who completed it in normal time.

I propose the next one be judged under several criteria on a scale of 1 to 10.

Here's the scenario.. two people did really well, and one person stands out above the rest just slightly.. That person gets a vote, and the other person doesn't. Everyone else feels the same and votes for that guy, leaving it 10 - 0, for someone who was nearly on par with the other guy, he got slaughtered..

If we could rate 1 - 10, a voter could give the one guy a 10, and the other guy a 9, and then the numbers are summed up at the end to give a winner.

It's a more fair voting system than the current one we have, because I'd have liked to have voted for others in addition to myself, and that's not possible.

Originality is also a factor in this competition, and I don't know why you have a problem with that. Just because you created a shiny tongue depressor/PSP clone-controller doesn't mean that everyone else should have.

That's not my problem, and if you're going to be an ass, be an ass!

Read the rest of my post, it's like you read the first line and posted or something.

Hatrix, the people have spoken, and they happen to like Triton's better. So what? This is just a fun, friendly competition, no need to be a sore loser/total ass. The fact that you feel that "two people did really well, and one person stands out above the rest just slightly" is a matter of opinion. Obviously people didn't agree with you, so instead of being a total jerk about it, how about wishing everyone else good luck and congratulating them on their hard work? After all, you're not the only one who put in good hours making your mod.

To be honest, I have no response to the rest of your post.

Well stated, Triton. In fact, I suggest for future that these "competitions" should hold no polls. Of course, that's totally up to Kurt, but I think we should hold "meets," where we just dish things out to Engadget and such, bring more attention to the hobby! :)

To be fair, Hatrix does have a point. Originality and prettiness have overtaken the acknowledgement of bondo skill. But everyone's has voted on originality, including me, so to a certain extent, we have undermined the contest. Then again, bondo skill and prettiness seem to go hand in hand.
All of this does not detract from the fact that everyone has made incredible controllers.

What crap? Because this is a one bit voting system? It's hardly fair on a lot of people, but you couldn't care less because you're winning either way.

Skyone is sore because I said we shouldn't have late entries or non-working controllers, both of which his controller is.

And in case you didn't read either, we should vote on a scale of 1 - 10 on a set of criteria, (like design, originality, finish, functionality, etc), and then total it all up at the end, and anyone can vote on anyone, so if someone really thinks something is crap, it is reflected in their vote, rather than one ultimate vote to decide a winner.

I'm not sore, 2nd or 3rd is pretty good, I just think things would be more fair on the lower voted participants, who tried really hard, but aren't getting the votes.
