Guys all electroinc equipment is sensitive to electromagnetic fields. If you guys are think really something a lot like the T-100 (Arnold model) it's not going to have enought shielding to protect it's CPU, memory or anything else vital. And even if the robot were partly cybernetic, those of you that have seen Star Trek First Contact know what I'm getting at, lose the robot or cybernetic part and chances are good it will either not fuction or lose a lot of it's functionality.

Also I would like you guys to stop arguing the way you were, it's really childish.

It would take one hell of a EMP to short out something like that though.

Also they arent stupid predictions. Already now, most robots use NO HARD DRIVES. So they wear out more slowly etc.

Just nuke it. The first nuke tested left a circle about 330 meters in diameter of sand melted into glass, and it was only 19 kilotons. Imagine the 50 megaton the Soviets/Russia tested once. Nothing could survive a direct hit from that!

Hmmmm...... but you don't detonate nukes close to the ground anymore. Too much fallout. I wonder if some titanium/iridium alloy could survive that...

Watch this. It was detonated 2 miles above earth, and still turned the rock underneath it to ash.

Aslo if you read up oin the atomic age and all that crap ass bull they where toying with in the cold war, if you launch a 12 megton device in the atmosphire you can take out all the satalites in orbit. that big layer of protective radiation around the earth bounces nucular blasts and ecltromagnetc pluses around like nothing else.. that alone could cause some havoc, or make the govenator late by srewing around with the GPS in his hummer.

If it's in the epicenter of the explosion, chances are most likely zero. Outside that it's mostly a heat wave moving about the mack 1 so there's more of a chance there, obvious as there were steel frame work (recked) still left some what intact after Little Boy exploded.

I still think that a bomb capible of emitting an EMP would take out an army of robots. More so if they're nukes, I don't care what the story line in Animatrix says.

well dont forget w've been close to hitting the switch pleanty of times with the arms race years gone by. that was with only two countrys going at it, now every ones got some program ither weapons or power. that much dirty craps going to end up hitting the ocean some time if it alreddy hasnt. food from american fruit companys are basted with radiation to keep them "FRESH!" for weeks. all kinds of upper atmosphire high yeld nucular tests, south pacific deep sea test blasts, factory framed greasy deep fryed every things pumped full of medication just so they suvive processing, and goverment after goverment full of socialy ignorant fudementalists. I belive robots are far from the problem, we are getting fat and sicker day by day, the gap between rich and poor is widening. mass marketing is giving people social complexs similar to wild animals. tvs hypnonic obvois dumbing affect, schools crowding and space comming slimmer and slimmer. ever here of a malthusian check? I'd start in LA if i was earth.

TV only makes people dumbre if they ignore doing normal other things, like learning, and just watch TV.
