Not everything in the Bible is literal...those who take it that way are concentrating on the wrong stuff (or, in essence, just looking at certain things wrong). There may or may not have been a huge flood and an ark, but that's not the point of the story. It's to teach something about life. As is the creation account, so Creationists are also wrong.

Man you're stupid. where do you think that we got oil from? Freaking massive amounts of dead animals in concentrated areas of the earth when the flood happened, which rappidly compressed millions of carcases under massive preasure of millions of tons of water. I know that the flood is true, because almost eery culture has an account of a flood. You know where every culture came from? The descendents of Noah's sons and their wives. What the heck? creation isn't true??? Holy crap how'd we get here??? don't even try to pull some evolution crap on me because I will eat you alive if you do.
Like that wasn't a religous statement.

Wow, this is turning into a flame-war.
I'd imagine right now you wish you were a cuttlefish...

pretty much, oh and ya I was just kidding about eating Gamelver, I really meant like eat you alive with words.

oh and if you believe in evolution, everything would be inbread anyway, because everything that "evolved" would have to mate with their brothers and sisters, and parents... ewwww.

@iam7805, yes that was a freakishly religious statement, and I hope this thread gets locked because of it, because I will not take this bashing, twisting and screwing over of the Bible, and at Corscaria, I think in your first post you misspelled something, God has a capital G.

This is as religous as I'm going to get.

Adam x Eve = Jim and Lilly.

Who the hell do Jim and Lilly mate with?

Adam and Eve, of course!

The word "god" is a synonomous with "diety." Spelled with a capital G, God is the name of one specific diety.

Oil was formed over millions of years, not mere thousands.

Taken literally, the Creation as described in the bible is also unfeasible. Then again, I don't think many of those stories were meant to be taken literally. Remember the biblical moral that you shouldn't forgive someone just seven time, or seventy times, but seventy*seven times? Taken literally, that would mean we only need to forgive people 490 times. But the point of the story was that we should forgive people an innumerable number of times.

How do you explain Dinosaur fossils, dating back like 25 million years or so. Long before man.

How much more feasable is it that, over millions upon millions of years, that randomly, some life appeared on a rock. Then over these millions of years, it mutated randomly over and over, and by chance, it mutated, more complex and by chance ended up being higher thinking animals, that mutated over and over and became humans, and there happened to be two that mutated to every stage of evolution, because you know, you can't reproduce unless you have a male and a female.
Plus, If you have any scientific knowledge, you should know the second law of thermodynamics, which states "The entropy of an isolated system not at equilibrium will tend to increase over time, approaching a maximum value" Which means that all matter goes from order to dissorder, perfection to chaos. You catch my drift, Mutations, which are defined as "A change of the DNA sequence within a gene or chromosome of an organism resulting in the creation of a new character or trait not found in the parental type." which means that mutation is BAD, can you think of one mutation that is good? Did you know that Down Syndrome is caused by a mutation. The reason that humans and animals being inbread was not a problem at that time is because, Adam and Eve were perfect, the most absolutly flawless mutationless humans ever, as were all of the first animals. the gene pools have become so mutated and messed up, that inbreeding causes defects. If you believe in survival of the fittest, then you should know that, evolution could not occur, because if only the fittest survive, then the missing links, that are inbetween stages of evolution, to the next species, would not survive because they aren't good at doing what anything. The best example for this is the missing link "rat/bat". The bat, supposedly, came from the rat, which evolved, by growing wings. But you see, if the rat/bat has wings instead of front legs, and the wings(because they aren't fully developed) can't propel the rat/bat through the air, this thing can't move well. It's crippled, it won't survive.

how were these dated may I ask, because if it's carbon dated, that is only accurate for a few thousand years, and we know that to be true.

The dinosaurs died out 65 million years ago. They first appeared over 200 million years ago. They now make your car go. The earth was formed roughly 4.7 billion years ago. Humans, however, have only been around for millions of years.

I don't know what XPC is going on about with dinasours, of course the Earth is millions of years old. There's a gap of time somewhere in the beginning of Genesis that would account for this (something like between Genesis 1:1 and 1:2, or 1:2 and 1:3).

Now as I said above, how about telling me how you went about dating these dinosaur fossils.

and what is this magical gap that you speak of, I'd love to know.

GENISIS 1:1-3
1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

2 Now the earth was [a] formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.

3 And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light.
I see no gap

Evolution is not Mutating, when you evolve thoretically your DNA structure dont change. Now We did not come from Chimps, they are out closes relative with a DNA sequence that is almost human looking. We actually came from an Ape that dont exist anymore becuase they evolved into humans.

Now Adpating is a smaller form of Evolution, look at Giraffes, suposidly they started out with short necks, and adpated to African trees by growing long necks to reach the scrumptious leaves on top of the tree

because you know that, if you want to, you can just tell your body to grow in a different way

OK if your DNA structure, which tells your body how to form, doesn't change, then... how does this evolution of yours occur???

@sniper_spike if that is what you believe, that's great for you, but is irrelevent, the earth was VOID, Covered in darkness, what ever supposedly was there was completely destroyed. So since the creation it's been around ~8,000-10,000 years. which means that dinosaurs and all other creatures ie. humans, have only been around for ~8-10 thousand years.

@bic, fossils cannot be formed over millions of years, because it has to be done rappidly. fossilization occurs because of the rapid compression of a carcase under high pressure mineral-rich mud. http://www.bible.ca/tracks/rapid-fossils.htm

I believe in Atlantis, I know where it is. And so do many others. The contenint of Atlantis is now called South America, and the city has been found some time ago in the Andes. Few archeologists will outright say it is Atlantis, for 2 reasons. 1. They fear that thier colleagues would laugh at them. 2. To keep the mystery alive for the laymen.

But indeed the place they found matches ALL of the descriptions Plato wrote about, not just the few that most people remember, but all of them. The great Empire was found, and will soon be reborn. An ancient prophecy says that the Empire will rise again, and the Bolivians are going out of thier way to make it happen, starting with a new tradition. The presedent of Bolivia held his inauguration in the lost city.

If you ask an archeologist if they believe in Atlantis, they will say it is just a story. If you ask them off the record, many will say they have seen it, and the rest will say yes.
