ok i found a 100 uf 10v capacitator.......Good??...But one thing, it was in an old sattelite reciever that was sitting in the snow and rain for a few months.... think it will work?..... how durable are capacitators is what im really asking! it doesn't look coroded or anything.

yeah i wired up my dc-dc and its ready to go....just need a n64(dont want to rip mine apart,its too perfect. hopefully it works.
Can some one tell or post a piciure of what a diode looks like...i think i have a diode but im not positive!
@daguuy Those are an inductor and a diode. The Inductor is to smooth out the signal to reduce interferance And the diode is said to help with interferance/noise also. Anyhow, it wouldnt hurt to add them, but they are not required.

That's an inductor, not a resistor. If you use a small value (uH) inductor you probably won't need the diode. But if you did put in a diode it would need to be in parallel.
@toby: diodes are usually black with axial leads and a silver stripe on one end.
oops. Sorry about that. I just looked at the picture and I was thinking of the other converters. It shows a picture of a resistor. I fixed it though.
@ toby. Yeah, thats just a different kind of diode. Probably a silicon switching diode or germanium or some such. Rectifier diodes are the black with gray stripe as shown in the diagram.
