I hit a snag, I need to find a new screen, and finish a full n64p, and i need to pack up and move to move by august 28th. :(

I might not make the deadline. :(
Hopefully, I will though, because I want to show that a first-time portablizer can make an awesome case. :D

I have a question. My portable is "done," but the internal controller doesn't work. Can I enter it now or do I have to wait until the internal controller works? Because it's technically "portable" (luggable I guess) now.

You have about a month remaining, so plenty of time to fix it!

Exactly. Let's address this question again in five weeks.

Do I need to add "the system has to actually work" to the contest rules? If time really does run out on you and you have a mostly finished portable, it's expected that you will be absolutely honest about the condition of your portable.

Don't worry, yesterday I made a post saying "Since when can we embed videos on benheck?" when I was on modretro.

I got my IntoSugar system working but couldn't quite get the case shut on the DataMax case I was frankencasing. There was about 3mm gap, anyway, played a couple of levels of Pang on the system fine, all working perfectly. Thought, if I could screw the screws in a little more, all the better, flatter, more secure, won't need to fill in the gap so much .... turned on system, graphics garbled. Released the screws a bit, system worked, so I thought "phew", however after a few seconds, the screen's images get brighter and thick - uh oh. I think what happened is a couple of chip pins (which had been trimmed down) shorted against one of the batteries when pressed against them. Graphics garbled. Fried it. Green is faulty, and the C-Sync is damaged - composite doesn't work at all now. Tested on a different screen, same result; tried to connect the RGB to the CTX chip directly, better results but still fail. Bought another GX4000 board, and will use the old one to work out how much more of the board can be hacked down. Annoying - I got the system finished apart from a little cosmetic work. AARRRRGGGHHH!

Will either continue to use the DataMax case, or my own case, however, have decided to make a different system and then come back to the GX4000 project with a clear mind. On ModRetro I did a poll to see what people would like me to make next, the majority wanted DreamCast, so that is what I will be doing. I really love Quake 3 on the PC, so will be designing my DreamCast portable around playing that, and Sonic Adventure. As there is a DreamCast forum here, I intend to post a topic in there when the project starts soon.

I will therefore only be entering one system now in this compo! as am taking the view of "it will be done when done" and completing such a project in a month is not probable!

I'm resigning from the contest for now. Sorry everyone, but the world is not yet ready to see the X64 Lite, I've had too many issues with it, and I have commissions that are more important.
