Out of curiosity, would you be interested in making another one once complete? $$$ $$$

he said the case cost as much as some of his other portable so heres my (guessed breakdown):

case $400
Sytem $350
System (because the first one fried?) $200
watercooling $100
screen $200
battery $200
total $1450

so with labour about $2000 now thats value! :P

That's fine with me...I have the funds if he would be interested in doing another one down the road. I wouldn't expect him to do it right away, especially since I know he wants to work on the podcast.

However, I'd definitely give the funds to do another if he wanted to.

It does sound like a good ballpark guess, I'll give you that. Also, the case is all aluminum parts...it might be possible to make it with a different kind of material (to help keep costs down too).

Ben did say that the case alone WAS more expensive than most of his portables that he built.

I'm an electronic technician for a contractor. They give me the specs of certain equipment, and from there I diagnose it and repair/replace up to a certain level. If I can't figure it out, it moves onto the next level.

Financially, they pay well...but with the bills (loans [school/car], cell, rent, heat, electric, etc) I'm not left with THAT much, however, I do save a lot of it by keeping myself busy with playing my x360, psp, pc. It's all about saving for a rainy day guys (and gals). I wouldn't ask him though til the beginning of next year because my position is almost done (sucks being contracted) and I wanna use October and November to study and get certified in a few fields as well.

Rich? Naaa...would be nice.
Financially stable? Definitely! :-)
