Gases are contained in a VERY small area, and they're excited to create a plasma, which excites phosphor, which then emits photons like mad.
So yes, they do contain plasma, much like a fluorescent light.

I don't get new stuff often, and if I do, I get one expensive thing like that for my birthday or buy it with money that I earned, myself. And I always take the free cell phones. This last time, I spent $10, but that's rare. I have a $10 mp3 player and also have some music on my phone.

Um what else... Well salespeople in general tend to lie through their fricking teeth about stuff. It is really frustrating because even though you know they're lying (or are rather too uninformed to know they're wrong) they insist they are correct. Isn't the customer the one who is always right? Even if the salesperson truly believe they are right, why not at least patronize the customer's opinion?

And of course the continued belief that laptop LCD screens are of any value at all is something the nation, nah WORLD needs to get pass.

A few years ago (2004-ish?) I was talking with a guy about video games and I mentioned BenHeck (I had just heard of the site at the time), and soon our conversation led to a portable PS2.
