Gases are contained in a VERY small area, and they're excited to create a plasma, which excites phosphor, which then emits photons like mad.
So yes, they do contain plasma, much like a fluorescent light.

Me: "So what did you do over the weekend"
Girl: "OMG! I went to the mall and my dad wouldn't let me have a new iPod and a new cell phone! He said I like had to CHOOSE! It's inhumane! It's like child abuse!"
Me: "......"
I hate my school

I haven't been here in awhile, and looking back it's one of the worst ideas I ever had. I'm back and I'll be here for awhile, I was quite active 1 year ago and I hope to become that again.

That is why I hate preps who think they need everything new, like a new cell phone every month, or the new crappy ipod nano. I get nothing new. I get used stuff, just the way I like it. I will get an xbox 360 and other new stuff..... in ten years when they are old.

And I do not get new stuff often, but when I do, I pay for it myself, and enjoy it. And I never feel entitled to it, unlike a lot of kids.

Oh yeah, I buy all my stuff with my own hard earned money. It makes me enjoy and appreciate it much better.
and I forgot about the new shuffle. That does look like crap.

Allow me to step in and say something here....
O....M....F....G....
Somebody kill that girl before her genes are transfered into the blood stream. It would be merciful! Survival of the SMART(er) human race! Come on people, we need to start some major high-level prep genocide! Before it's to late (Or rather...Any more to late)!
I'll bring the weaponry... And we shall bring the painful reality to them!
I can see it now... iPod VS katana. Cell phone VS kubaton. Oh yeah. Fun times.

I don't get new stuff often, and if I do, I get one expensive thing like that for my birthday or buy it with money that I earned, myself. And I always take the free cell phones. This last time, I spent $10, but that's rare. I have a $10 mp3 player and also have some music on my phone.

I think I might be one of the only people in that pay for my stuff.

Alright, HBN, ready to chant? I THOUGHT SO!
DEATH TO PREPS! DEATH TO PREPS! DEATH TO PREPS!
We'll stip their hollister from their heavily make-upped bodies, burn all their precious parents' money, and destroy their cell phones, cameras, and mp3 players!
And then, after that, we'll make them suffer without all that expensive prep crap by making them go to jobs and making them shop at the goodwill, and after the suffering is all over, then....DEATH DEATH DEATH!
I don't like preps that much, as you can see. Mostly because they think I am a nerd. I am not a nerd. I am a hacker!

My mom: "Our cable TV is fuzzy, is that because of the DTV switchover?" (I jiggled the cable and it was fine)
Someone actually told me you can mod a PS2 to play PS3 games...
CHIP SMASHERS!
Um what else... Well salespeople in general tend to lie through their fricking teeth about stuff. It is really frustrating because even though you know they're lying (or are rather too uninformed to know they're wrong) they insist they are correct. Isn't the customer the one who is always right? Even if the salesperson truly believe they are right, why not at least patronize the customer's opinion?
And of course the continued belief that laptop LCD screens are of any value at all is something the nation, nah WORLD needs to get pass.

I've gotta take one for the team and say one about myself.
A few years ago (2004-ish?) I was talking with a guy about video games and I mentioned BenHeck (I had just heard of the site at the time), and soon our conversation led to a portable PS2. This quickly brought out the iconic line of: "Dude, it'd be easy, I'd just have to redesign the motherboard as multi-layer and it'd totally be small enough." Two months later I opened a PS2 for the first time and instantly began cursing my previous statement. I was such a n00b back then
