Perhaps I should clarify some of the things on my cards. When I say, "Negate enemy attack" it means that the people card cannot be attacked (others can). So, if you have Fanboy (the old-skool one) and avatar change, that card can't be attacked for 4 turns. The enemy can still attack. I'm also working on another card called "Power Switch" which allows you to switch powers with any card on the field  ...

OK, you can change my MS-DOS card to miss 1 or 2 turns. And the daguuy card is "kind of" cheap, isn't it?

OK, this is a double post, but it has new information.

I have just finished creating a card generator in Visual Basic 6. You can download it here

You have to install it with the setup.exe program in the zip file. After that you will have a program group in your start menu with two items. One of them is the card generator, and one is the zip file for the source code.

Right now it only supports people cards, and only one attack per card. Marshall can edit my source code to change that

Also, it can't save cards yet, so do an ALT+PrtScn to save it :)

EDIT: Found a bug: OK button in avatar select window selects avatar but does not close window. Cancel button in avatar window doesn't work.

Enjoy :!:

Nice! Good Job :D Very praticle for an easy way to create cards. Would it be hard to make a suite containing Peoplegen, effectgen, OSgen, and Consolegen. It could be like MS Office, you choose which one you want to make and it loads the program. And maybe add a second attack function. I would also say to support stars upto 10. But other than that, sweet. It's great to see people interested in this game :) Also, may i reccomend .png and .jpg support. I dont have any .bmp files

iam7805, for the card program you should use a picturebox, and use bitblt to blit your starting card picture, and use the TextOut function. Then, you'll be able to grab the picturebox's hdc (device context) and save it to a file, if you want.
Those functions are part of the Windows API, you can't call yourself a decent VB programmer without knowing about BitBlt and a few of the other functions :P

I also have a JPEG compression class written in VB you can use so that people can save their cards to JPG. Maybe, you could add an internet control and hack up some code so it will automatically upload the JPG to imageshack.

Just some ideas :)

Has anybody done a Chuck norris card yet? "ATTACK: Kills everyone instantly. Even the players. Even the players fathers and mothers. And their pets. With a roundhouse kick. HP: None. Nothing can hurt chuck norris, he don't need no steenking heal points"

MacGyver card...
"ATTACK: Converts all the players cards into an explosive bomb. HP: Just enough to save the day."

@Harshboy - im going to work on these programs in my spare time and eventually we will have a full suite of programs. Maybe in a few weeks? Maybe months (hopefuly not though :P ) It'll be like Duke Nukem Forever - it'l be done when it's done.

@Marshall - of course i've been programming in VB for a while, but this program was just a quicky. I'll work on better ways to do this, but I think my method is the best for loading BMP files.

Hopefully we will have Microsoft Card generator soon! (cross out the microsoft part!)
