E3!!!

Wow, I didn't realize that was the new Dashboard. I thought it was just how they were presenting to the press conference.
Hmm... it seems to be the PS3 rotated 90 degrees in function and the Wii in form. Why would MS give up on something that was working so well in favor of imitating inferior competators (speaking in terms of software sales, not personal tastes.)

Triton wrote:people *coughBENcough* keep complaining about how the wii will harm gaming in the long run and crap like that, i agree to an extent but it ISNT the wiis fault that the 3rd party developers like to make crap shovelware games to cash in on the wiis popularity instead of making more good quality games that live up to the wiis potential.
I agree. I've played a bit of Super Mario Galaxy, and I thought it was pretty fun. The game made pretty good use of motion controls, and you were allowed to use normal controls for stuff like movement. A game I've played that made bad use of motions controls was NFS: Prostreet. I found it hard to steer with the motion controls (and shift while drag racing), and acceleration with a digital button? Thats so 2 gens ago.
Really, its mainly the 3rd party developers that are digging the hole. Most of the first (or close to first) party games for all systems have been fairly decent, not so with the 3rd party (especially on the Wii, since it lends itself to easy shovelware).

GoNintendo has a ton of great videos and a long article on their impressions, all of which are extremely positive. You should check it out if you're interested in the game!Jongamer wrote:Yeah I saw that about Pikmin 3, but I didn't see the thing on Conduit with Online play and Voice chat.ghosstt wrote:Well, closed door E3 conference with nintendo, and some good stuff came! Oil crashed in the 30's and 70's. The housing industry is pretty much smashed at the moment. Anything can happen in a free marketCronoTriggerfan wrote:Companies, sure. Mainstream industries? I actually think it will happen. It can only expand so much till the bubble pops.

If anything would lead to a gaming market crash, it would be the overpricing of game systems and their games. $60 for a round piece of plastic is a bit ridiculous. So I think, if there is a crash, it'll be a consumer backlash at the rising cost of the industry.
High budget movies cost $20 on DVD, why can't games?

cause the movie makes all the money back in the theater where as a game only makes money in sales of the game.grossaffe wrote:If anything would lead to a gaming market crash, it would be the overpricing of game systems and their games. $60 for a round piece of plastic is a bit ridiculous. good point, but they're still overpriced. Its a real problem when crappy games cost you the same amount as really good ones. sure, every now and then a game will cost $10 less than average, but too many crappy games cost way too much.Rekarp wrote:cause the movie makes all the money back in the theater where as a game only makes money in sales of the game.grossaffe wrote:If anything would lead to a gaming market crash, it would be the overpricing of game systems and their games. $60 for a round piece of plastic is a bit ridiculous. I'm pretty cheap, so I'm not gonna spend $50 on a game unless I know its gonna be good (usually, i've been burned a couple times when I let myself buy into the hype). I think games that are entertaining but not worthy of the title "Great" should be cheaper than others. I may have considered buying No More Heroes if it didn't cost so much or if it had a less cartoony art-style.

Didn't anyone tell you? It is uncool to like the following if you are going to work in the news media: Microsoft, George Bush, Police Officers.
