I love it because it runs great on everything. I have Zenwalk(Slack-based) on a AMD K6 266 with 160mb ram, 20gb hd, 16mb Nvidia Vanta video card, random noname ISA soundcard and everything works perfectly. I use XFCE for an environment because it is lightweight. My main system is a Athlon XP 2600, with 512mb ram, 300gb hd and a 128mb Nvidia GF4 Ti4200. It runs great on this system too, I use Debian SID with XFCE. I will soon be installing Gentoo on my Acer 3003LCi Sempron 3000+ laptop, I had Debain running great with wireless and everything but I wanted to try something new.

I don't only run Linux, I have FreeBSD 6.0 on my Dell C600 PIII 850 laptop, I like it OK but I haven't got a few things to work like scrolling on the touchpad, java, embedded video in webpages and a few other things. I do, however, have wireless working flawlessly. I also have BeOS R5 Pro on a Dell PIII 600 desktop system that works great, I use it for basic web browsing, playing music and videos in my workshop.

I have Windows 98 SE on a second HD in the AMD K6 266 system and it runs like crap, it took me forever to track down all of the drivers. It is a fresh install with nothing installed and yet it lags horribly. The only reason I have it installed is for my SNES game copier, most of the tools I need are only availabe Windows or DOS. If I can get everything I need for DOS i will switch to FreeDOS.

I am right now. For a time I couldn't as reinstalling XP wiped out Grub and I couldn't get to SuSE. Ended up backing up the hard drive and reinstalling SuSE. I also run Fedora Core 4 every Wensday night... til the next 2 weeks. And when I need to get into a system to get at the files I always use Knoppix 4.0 DVD.

I liked the previus style aaaaah. this is stupid I hate microsoft. So one reason too hate microsoft. Only good thing about windows is that it is easy too use.
