You say a 3300mAh battery? You'd only get about 3 hours out of that even with a super-efficient dc-dc converter.
I guess you put tons in parallel then.

If so, this should be classified as a "luggable" N64 just like the first Compaq "portable" PCs.

none taken i thought the same thing and the pipes are the batteries and i guess i could put them in the case i just dont want to right now, but for my GCp i am going to use a no wait youll never believe this a 12v 9000mah battery thats right and its small and believe it or not it is very light weight also the batteries are 12 v wich gives it a further drop off point than a 7.2v

i dont know where it is on the net i saw it at a local hardware store(menards) its a drill battery and by saying its small i mean small for a 12v battery its about 6-7in long

heh, good luck having the smallest GCp ever with THAT battery .....a big ol' ni-cad like that would give you a lot of play time, but I'm guessing it's pretty big and heavy .

gamelver has the smallest GCpas of now im pretty sure and will have the smallest one for awhile. i really dont think there is a way to get it any smaller unless you use a hipgear or an expensive 4 inch pocket tv and some li-polys

yeah, you really can't get it much smaller than what I've got, unfortunately ...it's a small little system, yes, but it's arranged in wierd way and the disc drive is huge.....oh well .

and though that N64sp (semi-portable ) is pretty big, it looks clean and as long as it's functional, it's good .

Better than Ben's? That is quite a claim. Ben’s cartridge slides down the back, and its thinner. Someone already mentioned the size, but I think we needed a visual. Here is a size comparison just to put this "portable" in perspective. Its Bens n64, with the screen matched to yours.



You said 10 hours of battery life? If its even true I don't think that alone makes it the best n64p ever. I would say that hand-built portables don't really need more than an hour or two of play. Why? Because where are you going to have 10 hours of time without a wall outlet? There are rare occasions, but most of us play portables indoors (shocking, but true). I end up playing mine with the wall adapter when the TV gets tied up. We build them, because they are fun to build, and play. It's not really meant to replace your PSP, or DS, (you can't jam it in you pocket to whip out whenever and play like commercial hand-helds) but is a welcome addition.

Sorry if I sound like a jerk, because it really isn't my intention. Its just the way you posted your work, and the attitude you displayed that pretty much asked for it.

I guess its cool that someone has completed a portable, but its not so cool to make ridiculous claims, and be all arrogant with something like this. My portables aren't incredible or anything and I don’t go around trying to pass it off that way. It's all right to be proud of your work, and want to show people what you have done. But realize there is a point where your "pride" could become arrogance, and then you start sounding like a jackass. Its getting pretty annoying to see people slap something together, and try to pass it off as "the s00pa duper awesome 1337 portable, I'm smarter then Ben, and everyone iz the suxor". Or the even more annoying "unseen portable" where people make claims, but never show any pictures.

I'm sure someone else wanted to say something along the same lines, but was unsure if it was constructive to the thread. I think it adds to this thread, and lets other people know what to expect when posting. Its just common etiquette, and if you don't agree you are most likely wrong.
I hope someone learned something from this.
