2H2O2(l) + MnO2(catalyst) => 2H2O(l) + O2(g)
Decomposition Reaction
In this reaction, The oxygen is freed from the hydrogen peroxide to form water and oxygen gas.
You can test for oxygen by putting a glowing splint above the liquid. If it glows more intensly, oxygen is present.
The maganese dioxide acts as a catalyst, speeding up the reaction. This is the black liquid.

Experiment 2: In this experiment the chemical reaction is single displacement, the metal plus water reacts with each other resulting in CaOH plus H2. Hydrogen gas is produced in this chemical reaction.
So that would be right?

When you stick the magnesium ribbon into the flame, the magnesium gains enough energy to rapidly react with the oxygen in the air, forming magnesium oide much faster than if the magnesium ribbon was left out in the open.
The ash/smoke produced is Magnesium oxide.
And for number one you didn't change anything

Sodium nitrate is soluble in water and therefore is not visible at the end of the reaction, due to the fact that it is in its aqueous state and neither the sodium nor nitrate ions produce a colour when dissolved in water.
Experiment 2: In this experiment the chemical reaction is single displacement, the metal plus water reacts with each other resulting in CaOH plus H2. Hydrogen gas and Calcium hydroxide are produced in this chemical reaction. The bubbles produced are the hydrogen gas, and the Calcium hydroxide is soluble in water, and therefore is not visible after the reaction is complete.
