Sigh... you don't have to use the wand if you feel your gonna look like an ass, they are coming out with a traditional controller shell, and you can use CG controllers if you want...vb_master wrote:That sounds stupid. The Revolution is just the next step towards VR, there is no doubt in my mind, we will get there very soon. I mean look at whats happened in the past, 20 years ago we were attacking the evil blue dots with our red squares, using a joystick with one button and playing our games of casset tapes with only a few bytes of data, now were using blue ray DVDs with 15+ gigs of space and games that actually take up that much room, were using HD TVs with pictures that look amazing and controllers with 15+ buttons. The next step is indefinably to something more than just sitting on your couch infrount of a TV.

that type of technology has been in the works for decades, sony isnt the first to thin about direct neural interfacing, read "the long run" by daniel keys moran, the "inskin" takes it a step further, implanted neural computers and neural nets

I know that. they even have these implants for paralyzed people that actually reads the activity of certain nerves and memorizes them in a computer and actually allows the user to controll the computer just with thought, but Sony is the first to try to apply it to gaming. I think that we will begin to see attachments like that near the end of the PS3 or at the beginning of the PS4.Triton wrote:that type of technology has been in the works for decades, sony isnt the first to thin about direct neural interfacing, read "the long run" by daniel keys moran, the "inskin" takes it a step further, implanted neural computers and neural nets

imagine two remotes for one game, you block a sheild in one hand and swing a sword in another
or you hold a glock in one hand and a sawed off in the other.
now that would be fairly cool
or use each hand in boxing!!!
yes!
you sound stuid........if your going to insult the best gameing company ever at least lern how to write.

i highly doubt we will see neural interface systems in gaming for at LEAST a decade or more, the technology is in its infancy even now, we are just starting to learn about the human mind in any useful way. my estimate is we will have this tech. at a useable level like in animes and books and whatever in the range of 2030-2060 and on a much more basic level sometime after 2015
