Sony has made good products in the past. Their CD players used to be the best. Their stereos used to be the best. Their laptops used to be top of the line.
Now they're turning into Microsoft, drunk with their own power.

My LCD is sitting atop of a 80's era Sony FM Tuner and 150-watt amp that is probably the best radio I've ever heard, hands down. It drives the speakers with no distortion, and is able to mimic a tube amp through solid-state electronics.
The inside is organized in a clever fashion: modules are plugged together to form the whole amp. They were way ahead of their time.

Did you hear the Sony president say, "The PS3 will NOT be a game machine."
He might have spoke to soon, but I think it's a good idea of where they're heading.

seriously though sonys ps2 graphics suck and yet people atill crank out money for it the reason gamecube graphics are so much bett are ecause of the ATI video card mabee if sony hooked up with a graphics card company there graphics would be better. I heard that the PS3 (with hard drive) will have linux installed. I find this very funny as Sony's computers all have Windows, they really should offer it on them.

But Sony's problem is that they're no longer the center of the universe. Apple has taken the portable audio market from them, Microsoft is taking the gaming and this whole DRM on audio CDs thing is going to cripple them for the next few years.

To be fair I think Sony is a great manufaturer, their problem is that their President/CEO/marketing group are all complete retards.

As much as I would like to do this... I can't. My radio/CD player is a sony. I own a PS2 and games (well games, my bro owns the PS2...technically... ). And I plan to buy a PSP (used though! That has to count for something...). That's about it though. It only makes up a small amount of my electronic crap, so they haven't "taken over" my room or anything.

If they do that psycho insane protection scheme for the PS3 you can bet I won't be buying it. Ever! EVER!!!

This is ridiculous(spelling?), isolating a game to one machine? That's like saying only the fat kid can have chocolate, Sony is going to uneeded lengths to protect their software, and personally it's starting to get on my nerves.

Patenting an item that excludes one game from every other system on the face of the Earth? Argh, Sony just finds more and more ways (whilst going to extreme lengths to do so) to whore money. How am I supposed to buy a used game? I'm not paying 70 bucks for a new piece of software that might totally suck, and when I try to give it EB Games they say no because the GRM drive has got you up the butt. I'm onboard with any type of Sony boycott, they are just couple of stuck-up, know-it-all business men who try to screw you out of every penny you have.

I've hated Sony (at least the video game and music media market side) ever since they dethroned Nintendo after the SNES era.

Man, would it make me a HAPPY man to see Nintendo recover once again.
