actually, they most likely are
....I can't seem to find a place with the actual inverter (or any data sheets, for that matter). all it says on there is:
"1001
D992
sumida"
I'm telling you, though, this inverter works great (only uses 100mA of power at 7.5V!) but I just can't find any data regarding the actual inverter
oh, btw, I measured 200V at the output with the ccfl tube connected....and 250V without any load. perhaps someone could find an inverter with similar specs..I've looked, but I can't find any
if it's any consolation, check old GC screens for inverter circuits....with any luck, you should be able to find one on there and it'll hopefully work

the 289-1134-ND wouldn't cut on draw much, if at all, I don't think....anyway, I'm gonna go and find the rest of the lcd board and see what I can find out...
oh, and I'm sure I read 200V at the output....if it is underpowering the thing, then why would it consume LESS mA? wouldn't it need MORE
?...hmm.....
Edit: ok, here's the part number around the backlight portion of the pcb...
DPWBX1039CPZZ Sharp
Edit 2: actually, the 289-1134-ND only uses around 200-400 mA of power...so you'd save a little power, but not enough to justify it being used as a replacement for the LEDs
...
