Yes, that's the way to show a resistor on schematics. Now for my question. Would a piezo with a rating of 7-14v @ 150mA max be able to be used in the circuit that vb_master provided?

well, as amazingly simple all this is, anything electronic skematicy i made that up right now!is over my head. Although, I'll figure it out somehow.
1 quick question, what does 8 (upside down horseshoe thingie) mean? 8 ohms? And why won't it work as my PC speaker?

Yes, that "upsidedown horseshoe" means ohms. The reason (I think) why it won't work with PC speakers, is that those speakers weren't meant for such shrill noises, and piezos are.

Actually, it's because a piezo doesn't require a signal, just voltage, as it makes the sound itself. PC speakers, just like any other speakers require an alternating signal to make a sound.
